Sounds like they didn't have any data on your actual speed--radars off & Lidar not deployed. Sounds like they wanted to scare you--common police tactic in the States when they don't have enough evidence. I'd recommend getting one of these: www.valentine1.com. It's saved me several thousand dollars in the last few years!

OK. Here are my speeding pointers:
1. NEVER get caught alone on the open road. ALWAYS mix in with traffic, sorta like the cops when they have their gun out and criss-cross among the various covers like dumpsters and pillars and other walls as they approach the suspect. In other words, speed up to the next car and get behind it, then foward hop to the next car and get behind it, and so on. Use these cars as cover, but NEVER sit in the fast lane and cruise without cover.
2. NEVER speed on a long blind curve. There will almost always be a cop waiting at the end. If you dont have at least 3/4 mile viz regarding both shoulders of the road, slow down.
3. I AGREE - Dont speed at night unless you are car hopping - - see above
4. ALWAYS watch other car brake lights. If they come on for no apparent reason on the open road - slow down immediately - its a cop.
5. ALWAYS watch opposite lane headlights for flashing brights indicating a cop is hiding.
good luck all!

Basically its called "situational awareness." You are the hunted, so think about how they would hunt you. Your rear and 3/4 rear vision is as important as the front. Cops will hunt you down sometimes using the same tactics you mentioned to avoid them.
Also, in the US, big rig trucks sometimes alert the cops if they see you really haulin a$$, even if they are two or three lanes over, or going the other way.
In most states estimation of speed, eg "i saw you going over the speed limit and I observed you were going 90mph " is not enough to write a ticket with. Sometimes, thats all the officer has though, so if they stop you and try to get you to admit how fast you were going, don't. Don't get cute, friendly or smart a$$d about anything they say or try to intimidate you with. I even had one officer say "Im just curious, how fast were you going over a hundred." He asked 7 times, each time movihng closer until we were nose to nose. Never admit to anything, you don't have to, so don't!!!!
Be polite and professional. Lots of police are jealous that they dont own a nice sportscar and view a flagrantly fast speeder as a target that has warrants, is drunk, stole the car, has drugs or all of those. The idea of owning a 170mph
sportscar is not remotely in their minds!!!!!!!!!
Keep your eyes open 360 degrees. Speeding is full time work. Don't get slack or cavalier about it!

This could quite possibly be the best advice...

Does this radar really works? I heard that it is not as good as the escort and there are new radar on the street now that the rader detecter can't detect. I have the Solo S2 Escort and it sucks!!!!! every time it goes on the cops is beside me or directly behind me. There are no time for reaction!
Well, I really doubt that people who drive this kind of car won't get a speeding ticket since it is such a fun car to drive!!!
I called my lawyer to day and he said that it is hard for me to get the ticket completely off, i might have to end up taking some driving classes.. Oh Well, as long as my licence is not taken away and preventing me drive this beautiful beast, I am fine with that!!

It's good for allowing you to pull to the side of the road quicker for the cops, before they even turn on their lights. As a result, maybe they'll just give you a warning instead of a ticket.

Why not speed at night?
I only ever speed badly at night.
Maybe this is different in the USA?

At the end of the day, long straight highway on-ramps are your best bet. As far as I know, there is no acceleration limit and you are free to get from 0 to 55 (or even 65 on 65 mph roads) as fast as you possibly can without getting busted - even if there was a cop right behind you.

All I can say is...why aren't you guys here to keep me company in CA? I wish even 10% of the drivers out here in the Bay Area put that much effort into watching traffic and thinking about what's around them instead of camping out in the left lane, under the speed limit, on the cell phone, until they're about 10 feet from their exit and merge off the highway anyway.....
Sucks to drive in CA.
