just to add few straight data to the discussion:
1. gt2 acceleration times from "auto" (italian) magazine:
0-100kmh=3.92
0-400m=11.61 (207)
0-1000m=20.59 (269)
max speed:324
lap time (balocco):less than a sec off cgt time. (see
http://www.fastestlaps.com/track27.html)2. quattroruote is obviously biased in favor to german cars, not only in judging cars more popular cars (i have yet to see a test between an italian and a german car where the italian prevails overall-they often publish tests taken word by word from auto motor und sport in which the 4 german cars take the first 4 spots...), but also in the lap times:
http://www.fastestlaps.com/track8.htmlfor instance take scuderia's predecessor 360challenge stradale which they tested slower that an m3csl or the enzo barely slower than a cgt. that doesn't sound very patriotic to me. they could have easily tested enzo and cgt in monza as well, where the outcome would have been much different.
3. quattroruote lap times of 911gt3rs and superleggera (one german and the other mulatto-german) have been recorded by Prost (although he has been told not to push 100%), which i suppose has some edge over the usual testers.
4. italian "auto" magazine is obviously porsche biased simply because their tester is an official porsche driver competing in the cup. this is why i suppose ferrari does not give cars to "auto" to review.
5.the nurburgring the times of non-100% germans cars recorded by "sport auto" are mostly doctored (i.e. not pushed 100%). lamborghini sent their tester sanna in order to rectify for the lousy split taken by the magazine with the lp640. the same did corvette for the z06. ferrari times are not comparable with porsche ones nor with gt-r's for that matter on that track. they will be when ferrari will decide to send benuzzi or schumacher out for a short holiday
to germany. to give you a rough idea; tiff needell drove both the enzo and scuderia nearly 5 secs slower than ferrari 's official drivers around fiorano's 1 min 25 secs course. put that in perspective.
