    Rennteam Exclusive - Porsche Cayenne gets PCCB

    Yes, right. PCCB is coming to the Porsche Cayenne, maybe starting with the introduction of a Cayenne Turbo S.
    More details next week...and if you guys aren't naughty til then, maybe some pictures too.

    Pccb will be only for cayenne S, GTS , TURBO and Turbo S with 550hp
    410mm in front 370mm rear
    From week 22 ( model year 2009) turbo get 370x38mm in front as powerkit version
    Next Monday will be realased Cayenne Turbo S

    RC - does this mean I can add PCCB to my GTS order now for 2009 production? Any word on price? How long do you guys think PCCB will last or how many KM's approximately for a road car? and how much for replacement?

    But we are naughty...

    $20k premium for Turbo S (with ceramics)? That would not be too bad.
    This is quite earlier than with the previous Cayenne. I guess they had to do something about the ML63 AMG being faster in straight line.

    I don't see the appeal of PCCB on the Cayenne, it is so heavy already, it is a SUV...

    I also don't see the point - especially as ceramic disks are so much more fragile than steel ones.

    Or are Porsche now saying these off road cars are now not to be taken off road?!

    PCCB = Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake

    It's from racing and super light weight and fade free (not sure) but it can take all punishments, good for racing, high operating temperatures possible. BUT, some do say they scweek in the rain... hope this helps.

    I am a bit confused. I LOVE PCCB - have on my 911TT and think it is just fantastic but am told by dealer to not take on gravel roads as it can chip easily. My Cayenne T goes well but brakes could be a little better but then does it lose all off road ability which defeats the purpose of a Cayenne....

    They are...the picture posted was from a test mule.
    I would get a hammer onto my head if I would post the engine bay picture.

    Regarding the gravel/etc. sensitivity of the PCCB: yes, it is true, the ceramic composite material disks are more sensitive. However: SGL Carbon, the manufacturer of this amazing disk has changed the compound composition and tweaked it in a way that it is suitable for off-roaders too.
    I wouldn't recommend this for heavy off-roading as there is always the risk of a stone getting caught somewhere "in between" but as far as I heard, the Cayenne can go off-road even with the PCCB but of course with some limitations regarding serious off-roading which will be announced in the sales brochuse and/or the manual.

    You must be kidding, right? The Cayenne is a great SUV but not even close to a real sportscar like the Carrera S. So unless I misunderstood you, this is a weird choice of possible buying candidates, honestly.

    Don't get me wrong, I already have a 997 GT2 but wanted a replacement for my 08 CTT which didn't come with a touchscreen and other goodies, so I've decided to go with Lexus and see how will the upcoming Cayenne look and perform.

    I already miss the V8 TT power
