    got rid of the seat belt warning beep

    yes guys you can do it... you have to sign a paper saying that you ordered it and porsche will do it for you ... i hated that beep sound

    Really? you mean post-production wise they will do it?

    I take my seat belt off when I park in underground garages to be able to maneuver better and the beepping nanny drives me nuts...

    took my car to get serviced at porsche dealer... once there they told me that they got this new software that gets rid of the beep and that i have to sign a paper for them to do it.

    yea, thanks for the heads up, i asked this question a week ago! The nanny is gonna make me crash because i park similarly to carlos form spain. I like to take the belt off while i park cause it allows me greater dexterity!
    Next time im at the dealer ill ask them!

    They did it to mine as soon as it arrived to the dealer. I had to sign and that was it! (It was back in Sept. '04)

    Escobar,

    You have to take the car into Porsche and have them disable the chime. It's not possible to do by yourself as you need the Porsche Tablet Computer (which they will attach to your vehicle once you take it in).

    There are various options that can be enabled / disabled with the Porsche computer. Personally, I removed the Regionally set 'speed limit' chime.

    Yes, I understand.

    I was just looking for confirmation that it IS possible, because I already asked my dealer twice to disable the beep:
    once when I bought my 997 (06/2005) and then 3 months later again.
    Both times I got the reply: not possible.

    I just send an e-mail to my contact at the dealer to check if they can do it now...

    go to your dealer and tell him that you wanna get rid of the beep sound...its in every porsche updated software ...simple, they did it for my car a week ago.free of charge.

    I have a VW Touareg as my winter car. I bought a VAG computer program to lower the air suspension and set various options like seat belt warnings and DRLs.
    Is there a similar program available for Porsche or is the dealer the only alternative?

    OK, just got confirmation from my dealer: disabling the beep is possible, no need to sign paper or anything.

    Anyone in the US been able to get this done???

    I wear my belt but I HATE that dumb beep... what am I 12 years old I need that stupid thing beeping at me ?!?!? please.

    I have done that as well... the noisy seat belt warning is gone yesterday... though I have noticed that the seat belt warning light is also gone + the air bag light now stay flashing for about 2 seconds and then go away !!!!
    Anybody who removed the beep noticed this or I am totaly dreaming !!

    Escobar - What country do you live in. I believe the people that were able to get this removed lived in Italy and Dubai. I've checked here in the states and so far no luck.

    Its in the latest software release for the dealer's shops. Maybe your dealer has not installed it yet

    Great news... I will do that too. I can' t stand this beeping noise . On my drive way, I sometimes need to go twice out of the car and I don't put the belt back on, driving at 20km/h...Same in undergroud parking lots!!!
