I can't help it but I get a pretty weird feeling in my stomach that some "confirmed" orders won't show up until fall. As far as I heard, the whole german market gets slightly over 200 cars before the factory summer vacation. The US gets slightly more but not even close to the 1000 cars mentioned by somebody in an earlier post (I don't remember anymore who said it). Again, we're talking about June/July deliveries to dealers/customers, mostly launch cars. Of course there will be more cars available after the factory re-opens mid/end of August.

Happy me, due to some "complications" with my order, I got an confirmation from Porsche directly regarding my car.
    997 Turbo
    Tiptronic
    PCCB
    Black
    Black leather
    Sunroof
    Sport Chrono Turbo
    Black painted wheels
Carbon package incl. rear console in carbon
    Sport seats
    Phone module PCM
    Crest in seat headrest
    Chromed exhaust pipes
    Speed control
    Heated seats
    Yellow seatbelts
    Thicker steering wheel

Yellow stitching was NOT possible since this is a launch car for June 24th delivery.

RC, you know its wierd. I tryed to order the Chromed exhaust pipes like you have on your order but they are not in the US ordering system. Why would you be able to get them for German market but not the US? Any Ideas?

It may have to do with availability. But don't worry, the chromed exhaust pipes are retrofittable. Maybe you can "cut a deal" with your dealer to retrofit them at factory install cost as soon as they're available?!

    Re: Sorry, can't explain it

I was also wondering why I couldnt order it. Thanks for the info!

Re: US allocations in the system today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrads on the car. I am sure it will be sweet!

Re: US allocations in the system today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes , every morning now I have to look at the date and count down to the mfg date. I guess I need to get a life or go to work or something

Congrats, Rich, Alan, BD & Red430.
Wondering how long the queue is in different parts of US, dealers ever candidly mention how many folks have 997TT deposits placed? dealer probably going with straight MSRP on these early cars? thanks for any info re this.

Rich, you will definitely be the first on your block
The sycamore is nice, I had a Ferrari 308 which had a wood steering wheel & shift knob as stock equip against tan leather, wood bits were about the same coloration as sycamore & it was beautiful.

btw getting the extra leather bits is a good move. Option CDZ is attractive in that it "connects" the shifter boot stitching with the PCM side panels leather stitching....of course, like a lot of P stuff it should be standard!

    CDZ

I don't know how many people are on the list but I put money down when I bought my 997 in sept 04. I just figured at some point they would have a new Turbo and I would want one. I know alot of folks have come out of the wood work since all of the press and want to know if they can be "first on the block" You had to plan to be first on the block. I had wood in my millennium coupe and liked it so i thought I would do it again. Cant wait!

I have the FAX. The order is in the system. The status says MFGCNF. I cant belive the day has actually arrived that my order is in. The Long wait will now get worse. Anyone looking for a 2005 997 S with Techart Kit and H&R, PCCB 8,000 miles? Let me know! Yahoooooo

I noticed that you didn't get the PCCBs with your new order....but you have them on your current 997S. Any reason why you did not get them again? I could see the total cost being a possible reason, but just curious

I think they are great and my 997s is the first time I have had them on a car. But I honestly can't say that I can tell the difference. That is the first reason. The second reason is that I just did not want to add another $8800 dollars to the car and the last reason is the posts about replacement costs have scared me. My car is a daily driver and I have yet to make time to track my current car. Could I afford them? Yes. Did I justify them? No
