    Rennteam's new Spy Cam

Ready for the summer...our spy cam.
Of course to be used on cars, not chicks (sorry ladies).

BTW: this picture has been taken with my wife's approval, she just asked me if I see something nice on the beach.
Well, not really very nice but worth taking a shot for our "spy cam" demonstration. Porsche beware...

    Re: Rennteam's new Spy Cam

Very nice design I like it

    Re: Rennteam's new Spy Cam

It should against the law for beautiful ladies to wear their top at the beach.
That's one of the few great things in France!

Just to get back on topic, what zoom range does your new camera have to allow you get up that close? Must be great for ornithologists (bird-watchers)!

A few years ago, my wife took off her bra at the same beach the picture has been taken. She saw a nice woman without bra too and she thought that finally, US authoroties allowed this. Well, a few minutes later, a Fort Lauderdale beach patrol officer walked up to us a kindly asked my wife to put back her bra. Not because it would have offended somebody (despite one mega fat woman nearby maybe... ), my wife looks great but because of (this is what the officer told us) "little children" and "certain people".
When my wife started to argue with him that every little child already saw such "things" and what he means by "certain people", he started to turn up the authoroty and threatened to arrest(!) her.
On the other hand, there is south beach(?) around Miami art deco where sunbathing without a top seems to be pretty common, although not quite legal as far as I heard. But it seems to be tolerated.
And to be honest: I never saw so many women with breast implants in my entire life like I see each time during my stay at the hotel in Fort Lauderdale. Now the question is: what is more offending, a super mega balloon bossom which looks like two airbags on a tiny little woman or a nicely shaped and not too small natural one breathing some fresh air?! And now I shut up, I suppose this gets too far.

To answer fritz' question: the camera has a (hold your breath) 1728 mm zoom range. A 432 mm optical zoom range and a 4x digital zoom. Why the quality is so good? Well: there is an image stabilizer incorporated and believe it or not, the camera takes the same quality pictures at max digital zoom range even if the object of desire is moving. Over the full zoom length a 2.8 stop.

    Re: Rennteam's new Spy Cam

    432mm/2.8 f-stop? Panasonic?

    Re: Rennteam's new Spy Cam

it should be against the law for fat people to wear revealing clothes

    Quite a piece of kit.

"Object of desire", uh? So we went back to being OT.

I think the bumperette thing is a US safety law thing, nothing people really want.
To be honest, I sometimes don't understand US laws. On one hand they have so much freedom (much more than in Europe, even if the media in Europe makes us believe differently) but on the other hand there are certain laws which don't make much sense. What always annoyed me a little bit were comments from Americans regarding European freedom: they admired that we're allowed to drink alcohol at 18, in public and that it is sometimes even tolerated under 18 (beer in Bavaria for example). Not to forget about the pretty liberal laws consuming drugs, especially in the Netherlands. But if THAT is freedom, I don't know. I don't drink alcohol and I don't take drugs, so this really doesn't matter to me. I would love to modify my car without some very restrictive laws and I can't do it (sometimes for a good reason but not always), I would love to own a jet ski but it isn't legal on our lakes, I would love to buy my food at 10 PM but our supermarkets close at 8 PM, I would love to eat good tasting tomatoes but unfortunately I get only that non-tasting "biological" stuff, I could go on forever with pros and cons.

To make it short: the grass is always greener in the neighbour's garden. I know so many Americans who would love to live in Europe and vice versa. Each country has advantages and disadvantages, maybe living and working in one and vacationing in the other would make more sense.
I would love to live 6 months per year in Florida, the weather over here in Bavaria really sucks.

Florida, Florida, Florida? Why? All the roads are straight. No mountain driving. The weather sucks (compared to California). There are parts of California that are just like Bavaria but without the winters.

    Re: Rennteam's new Spy Cam

    Dear RC,
OK, but the weather in mediterranean sea worth the californian one. And it's not so far.
And we are so submerged here by images in 2D from there that each time I travel in the US, I feel like in a 3D movie..not real, see what I mean ?

My Congressman is fat and so he has ignored my suggestion, to which you also favor.

    Re: Rennteam's new Spy Cam

    Florida?

I would also rather consider California for some time...

I don't want to start a riot here but I have no intention of living somewhere else than in Europe for a considerable amount of time if there wouldn't be a particular reason (job, wife etc.)! Just feeling happy here!

Yeah, and I wish I could move back to my little place on GustavMahlerstr in Stuttgart-Botnang. Life was good there. I miss it.

    Re: Rennteam's new Spy Cam

I love California, I lived for more than 6 weeks in San Diego at a friend's house and I had a great time.
I also love LA because of the many things you can do around LA and it is only a few hours drive to Las Vegas, which I love too (not for gambling but for the whole atmosphere, shows, fun, weather, lake mead, whatever...).
My wife also loves San Francisco a lot, even if it is sometimes a little bit too cool for our taste.
BUT: we went through three(!) serious earthquakes and don't really have the desire for a fourth one. The water temperature isn't also to our liking in California, we prefer really WARM water in the sea (which also minimizes the risk of sharks... ). Also we love Orlando because of the kids, we love Miami/Fort Lauderdale because of it's spanish/jewish/arab/american mix (I dislike however how Miami people are driving...if you can call that driving ) and finally: we have to fly around 2 hours less to Florida.

    Reasons for not being here:
    1. the weather sucks
    2. you can't shop after 8 PM (for working people really a tough thing if you can't get your favourite stuff after 8 PM)
    3. you can't wash your car on sundays
    4. you can't really earn a huge amount of money in Europe
    5. you can't use a jetski on a local lake
    6. I could give you a dozend more reasons NOT to be here

Florida? Well, so many things to see and to do, so little time. California? A little bit too liberal/left oriented for my taste (I LIVED communism/socialism, I know what it really feels and tastes like) but a very nice place if you have money (well, actually all places are nice when you have money ).

There's a law that businesses can't stay open after 8PM?

How do the people who live near the Mediterranean Sea get so rich?

One of the reasons for moving from the San Francisco area for me was that it was too liberal for my tastes. Orange County (next to LA) where I live now is considered one of the most conservative areas in the country. At least it use to be
