Fuel consumption has easily decreased up to 11.2L/100kms, and that was achieved by going in 7th gear at 100kph
???
That's only about 21 miles to the gallon. Not very impressive. Maybe you did the calc wrong. I can get 25 mpg average at 75mph in my 997S easily. At 100kph I would have guessed more like 7L/kms.
It can easily go down to 10. something, that's for sure....I decided to cruise down the motorway at speeds of 90kph-120kph in 7th gear to see where the fuel consumption figueres ended, the best was 11.2L/100kms, if I would have continued I would have seen 10.something, guaranteed....7th gear is like putting the engine into idle....and if you dont press sport plus button and drive relax, PDK, will inmediately insert the highest gear possible, so may be that's why official fuel consumption figueres are that great....
Also have in mind, that car is a demo, so you can imagine what type of treatment that car has suffered....it had 4400kms when i got it, and returned it with about 4.900kms....and overall driving with that car, hasn't been relaxed at all...I'd say completely the way round since first day....in fact when I got the car, fuel consumption was reading 15.9L/100kms...
I'm sure for a long trip drive of 500kms, cruising at 120kph in 7th gear can show you figueres of 10L/100kms or even less.....
Porsche has reduced fuel consumption for sure !!
