    New Jersey Motorsports Park Weekend with BMWCCA

    I was at the Thunderbolt track at New Jersey Motorsports Park Weekend with BMWCCA. Weather was great and I had a lot of fun. Here are some pics of my car along with a bunch of supercars that showed up on a tour. They were on the track only for a slow lap while being paced since they had no time at all to learn the track.

    F430 Scud was on the track racing, not part of the supercar tour. He owns the Philadelphia Ferrari dealership and has had it since April.
    This car went out with the Black run group and was really quick. It sounded really nice too!

    Exige S1 in total carbon fiber body, S2000 engine with 300hp, 1780lbs, completely custom rear subframe and suspension by Penske. Sick little car!
    Yes, he was only running on the track.

    He's still sorting the car out, but it looked so cool on the track!
    He's actually building a new engine that will put out 350bhp at the wheels! That will be about 460bhp/ton!

    No, I actually wasn't the only one. I just put on a new M-tech front end and paid $1000 for install and paint. The tape worked great - not a single mark on the front end. I don't do too many track days so it's not worth it getting a clear bra for the front.

    It was a great weekend!

    I've driven one. So much fun! Really makes you focus on becoming a technical / skilled driver since you just can muscle it with engine.

    It wasn't a "timed" event because it was really a driving school put on by BMWCCA.
    That being said, there were a couple older Porsche's that were just blazing by everyone in the instructors group. There was a widebody 930 turbo that was a monster (dedicated track car). A well driven 997 GT3 with slicks was really moving as well. There were plenty of E36 M3s that were dedicated track cars that were moving along at a good clip as well. I had the chance to ride with my instructor in his run group and it was a blast! Diving in late for passes and going three wide was so much fun.
    In my run group (beginner) I was blowing by most everything including a 997S. In my run group, 98% is the driver.

    Here's a pic of me going into turn 2. It's a blind uphill turn. The first day I had 20 feet of track left, but by the middle of day two I was using the concrete strips on the outside as I exited the turn!

    You forgot all about me! Where are the pics of my imported "exotic" yellow Z06 with the condom on the front?

    It is a SMALL world, I was parked next to you the whole weekend and we didn't realize it. I remember you telling me you HAD a Z06 and are now noticing your avatar.

    It was a great weekend and I had a blast having 3 strait track days in a row. Only downside was fixing my cracked rotor and the tremendous heat in the car after each session. I actually ran a couple of sessions with the AC on
