Whoopsy:Production start Nov 2017, North America delivery starts in March 2018.
Rough eatimate says they make it until the factory holiday in August, so about a 9 month production run.
They make perhaps 4-5 of a day of it was like the 911R, so for the 38 weeks or so production run they should make just under 1000 cars.
Daily production is like 270 cars split between 911 and 718, say 170 911s. Maybe 150 regular cars and 20 GT cars split between GT3 and GT2RS, 15-5 split seems reasonable.
While this would be great I would expect they can easily do 20-30 cars per day - if they wanr to. That's what happened with the GT3Rs. So the 5000 cars mentioned above could happen. The profit for Porsche would be substantial, of course.

whoopsy, if your arithmetic is correct how could they have done 5000 991.1GT3RS? the production window was 18 months if i am not wrong.

18 months minus the holidays comes out to be around 70 weeks of productions give or take.
15 cars a day, 75 cars a week, that works out to be slightly more than 5000 cars over an 18 month window.
Don't forget, during that time frame, the GT3RS is the sole GT car being made in the factory, there is some odd 911R sprinkled in towards the end of the production but that's about it.
For the GT2RS, it has to share the line with the regular GT3 also and the GT3 will be the primary GT car production.

MKSGR:absent:Whatever we say, this car is LIMITED, maybe not by a particular number but definitely by the time constraint.
It will stay in production much less then a year and they can do only so many of them, since a lot of work is not done on a typical assembly line.
The GT3RS was also "limited" by production time and they did more than 6000 cars...
Whoopsy just gave you the answer so i don't need to comment the above.

GT2RS and Turbo SE together at Goodwood. Looks like GT2RS def has traction issues unless the tires were cold.

Yes both. GT2RS in black.
Exclusive on the fence, was gonna do black too, but the agate looks good in person and then the gold surprised me by being very pleasant to the eyes, not obnoxious at all, in person it is more copper, so the gold and carbon scheme looks like a Duracell battery.

I have been on an emotional roller coaster about the GT2 RS all weekend...from ecstatic to sceptical and back again.
I have the No1 slot at my P dealer, so in all likelihood, I would be able to get one if I wanted one, trading in my current 991.1 GT3 RS.
And that is the rub. Sure, the 2RS will be much faster in a straight line, but so what. Away from that, I am not convinced it is the right thing to do, and the cost of trading up is substantial by any standard for a non-limited car.
I keep wondering if it could turn out to be smarter to go for the 991.2 GT3 RS instead...

I agree but no limitation doesn't mean they are going to build 5000 cars (claim is ridiculous).
As far as I heard, everyone who wants one and "qualifies" (whatever this means) will very likely be able to get one.
I heard that Porsche is planning to sell 1000 cars but if they sell more, the better.
5000? Not very likely. Actually, quite unlikely.

Just because of the price bracket I don't think they would sell 5000 units, if you add to that the fact that it is an extreme version RS with 700HP and no AWD, low ground clearance with huge lip, etc then the customer base is even further reduced... 1000 units seems reasonable, maybe 1500 if it catches a lot of hype...
Since those who buy it have to keep the car for at least one year before they can sell it, I'm guessing the "qualifying" for ordering one refers to flippers, those on the list will probably won't be able to even order one.

Nick, those two cars will be the nirvana of performance cars. I salute you. Well done.
Btw, the gold on the TT looks great. Good choice. As for the black RS, the color will hide the styling to the point that the .2RS willl be indistinguishable from the .2 GT3 but costing almost a $100k more. Rethink the color.

Well you know I like black cars 
and I completely don't mind if the carbon styling doesn't stand out at all.
AP actually prefer the car in black, he mentioned it looks meanest in black and that fits the profile of the car.
