While it's interesting to see what PAG is doing with the rear spoiler on the 991 Carrera models, personally I'm focussed on what will happen to the GT3 rear wing. I just loved the 997.2 GT3 rear wing. It was perfect IMHO.
On the 996 + 997 they started with a ''boomerang'' looking wing to end with the beautiful wing only with the 996.2 or 997.2 model.
I hope they stop this , as I like the .2 wings MUCH more .

And yes, there's a design fault in the engine of the 996TT and 997TT (maybe it's been fixed now, dunno) that can have quite heavy consequences. But that's OT.
Would be most interested to know what this design fault is? Can you make a new post with this info? I think many of us here would like to know. Thanks in advance.J.Seven
My 996tt had a design fault in the intermediate shaft bolts that were coming undone and start knocking at idle etc. P fixed that on later 996s by changing to secured bolts. I had to do a similar engine rebuild as well (at same place!)

I concur; I think Porsche nailed it with the GT3 and the RS wing.

2011 Porsche 911 Carrera...
Following the model of generations 993, 996 and 997 as more car-innovation to the next IAA - exactly - the 991. This is illogical, although it is a logical, comprehensive development of the 911, the classic on its 50th Birthday (2013) and should keep in top shape and desirable. The main changes include wider track, four inch longer wheelbase and a shorter front overhang in favor of driving dynamics and comfort.
The front seats move forward slightly, which creates more rear space. In addition to numerous lightweight construction also carry an electric power steering, a revised engine peripherals and a start-stop system helps reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Of course, in turn, is a power boost from the boxer engine, which is expected to move by 20 to 30 hp. Optical retains its characteristic silhouette, but with a smaller tail lights in the rear and outside mirrors, wider, the future instead of sitting in the triangle window on the doors.

In the last spy pics we can see how much more then on the 997 the front wheel arches stick out. That will give the car a very nice shape
And this car looks very low...maybe the -20 mm option

The photografer took the pics while car was turning, it seems like a wide long turn, that´s why it looks low.

Porsche is planning to reveal a new concept car in its return to the Detroit auto show next month.
Secrecy surrounds the concept, but AutoWeek sources suggest Porsche will signal its intention to produce a new halo supercar based on the same underpinnings as its early 918 Spyder, which was recently confirmed for production by 2013.
Absent from the Detroit show in recent years, the German carmaker says it will mark its comeback to Cobo Hall on Jan. 10 with the unveiling of a “spectacular new concept that points towards a future road-going model.”

These pictures cannot be accurate but rough approximations.
For example the front lights in the picture are exact copies of the 997.2 Dynamic Lights, It's out of the question to carry over these exact lights on a brand new model.

Nice work Misha, thanks. If the car looks like this, it will be terrific. I especially like the more sloping front nose, and am beginning to get used to the small flip tail spoiler. I doubt the rear lights will look like this, but I understand this is just a rendering for now.

Wonderbar, thanks for your input on rear lights - you are right , they are more likely to look something like this .

Maybe it won't look like a 911, but when it drives like my recent R8...
After 16 years of porsche, this car is completely different, but fuuuuuuun!
I'm impressed.
And, oh yes, in the future i'll be buying porsche again, but i'll never look down on an Audi!
