Quote:In my opinion too. They actually made 65 of them. I read they were going to auction off the 65th one which was not to be sold originally. I think they were expecting $1.8M but I never read about the auction having taken place. I love the colot combo too! Murcielago horsepower but 1700 pounds lighter.

There will never be another modern supercar weighing just 2500 lbs . Due to current safety nannies worldwide and the ever wider butts of buyers , current and future supercars are all bigger inside and 600-1000 lbs heavier . Gone are the days of chain smoking 140 lb "euro royalty" buyers , replaced by 270 lb millionaire athletes. You can add all the horsepower you want , but that weight has to be slowed and turned and that's when you feel the 1000 lb difference.

Ron Dennis, manager of the McLaren F1 team wrecked one but I'm not sure if it was ever rebuilt. There may be less than 64 left. Also, I'm not sure if those numbers include the 5 special ones that the Sultan of Brunei ordered.

It is for sure the best sports car ever made. The colour is the delivery colour "Grand Prix Red" for 028 and car 004 has the same colour. They made 64 Road cars the last for the owner of TAG. The number 65 is only a chassis held for spare.

Read between the lines here and you will see that 270lb atheletes and Volvo minded overpaid geeks have ruined the sports car market. Yes, Volvo minded overpaid geeks.
Sorry, but the Lotus Elan was the best sports car made, a
early 70's 911 S or RS is runner up. Both you can drive just about anywhere.
Love the Mclaren if you must, but its really more show car than go car. For a show car that goes, its great, but they cant really go anywhere, can they?
If the Lotus breaks, you can fix it yourself(and fix it often!). If a Mclaren goes akimbo you have to fly the dam thing to the UK. Love carbon fiber? Hit a bunny and you have a 25K bill. Now thats smart design isnt it? Anyone
price a Mclaren windshield? LOL.
The McLaren is a waste of money and also pathetically slow compared to a Bugatti Veyron, wich is just as dubious of
a automobile but staggeringly faster in all regards. Trophy cars are like trophy wives. They dont wear well.
