Gauss:Congrats, and I hope you don't regret not having the WP because of that sacked sales manager.
Nah I won't. It's not a car I planned on keeping long term, say like the GT4RS. No fault of the car, it's just, well, too capable.
Outside of a track, there is no place for the car to stretch it's legs even remotely, safely. I will take it out on my favorite roads just to experience it, to proof or disproof my initial impressions. But I suspect driving this car on the street will be like drinking beer using a tiny straw. Doable, but not very enjoyable nor satisfying. I have access to a good track, so that side of the coin is covered, but not preactical nor realistic for me ot take it there every time. But I do forsee I will be spending a good amount of time lapping and adjusting all the adjustable stuff to dial the car in, that was the main point of me buying one, I think it's cool to have those easiy accessable as oppose to say a race car where I need to come back to the pit each time I want to change something.

Whoopsy:Pilot:Yellow looks great Whoopsy! I hope it won't be long before you can drive it off the lot. Is it a dealer spec?
It's crappy cold and wet December now, it's going to be skating on ice with those tires so it will be like at least March if not April that I can stretch the legs on my favorite road, mandatory winter tire till March 31st on that road anyways.
And no not dealer spec, I spec it this way. Long story but the short version is that I am with a new dealer that's much closer to home, it's a joint venture from the 2 big dealer chains I frequent. The sales manager insisted on charging 6k ADM which they called 'performance pacakge' that put nothing on the car, so I in turn took out the 40k Weissach package from my build, chopping their profit by 8k (dealers have a 20% profit margin on car options, vs 12% on the base MSRP). Sales manager was mad and became rude. I told him I know your owner and I am going let him know what happened in this office and he was like calling my 'bluff' and said go ahead. And he can't cancel my order either because it's a 918 VIP order which Porsche Canada already was informed of.
The following week said sales manager was fired, the GM called and asked for a face to face to reset relationship. And the order lock date was passed so I can't add the Weissach back. I placed my Dakar order with them after that and the line item 'performance package' magically disappeared. These 2 cars were built less than a month apart, but I had the 3RS shipped over while picking up the Dakar at Zuffenhausen in Feb. Pointless to drive the 3RS in winter condition but that condtion is perfect for the Dakar.
Congratulations on the car. I did not expect that one. Will be very interesting to read about your experience with this car on public road and on track. As you have put it, I think it will be unsatisfactory on public roads and shine on track.
As to that sales guy..... some of them get so arrogant it ruines the whole experience. Nice trick on him
Well done mate. Never thought Id see you in a 992 gen GT3/RS but Im sure it will be a real experience on the track!

Hehe, I actually took delivery of a 992 GT3 back in Nov 2021, but when my 4RS arrvied a buddy of mine took it off my hands. I find the 992 GT3 just too big and unyieldy for it's purprose, aka zipping around mountain roads. The better steering vs 991 doesn't mask the fact that it's too big for the mountain roads hence the 4RS trumps it.
The 3RS however make no such promises, it's billed as a track monster period. I am excited to try it out there cause I had an amazing hot lap in one at Leguna Seca during Rennsport Reunion. Grip level was simply amazing. While it's street legal it's simply isn't a street car.

Nick, we need more whales like you to highlight the issues most of us minnows are experiencing with Porsche dealerships. Their greed has become so blatant they are adding ADM to lesser Porsche models. As a result, many of us are looking at other brands.
Love your GT3RS.
The purpose of life is to enjoy the moment.
My car is currently at V215 status, production will be in February 2024, delivery looks like week 19 of 2024 according to the dealer system.
The car comes with WP, PTS Lindengreen and some CXX goodies like seat inserts in Schottenkaro, Slategrey deviated stitching and seat piping, steering column in RaceTex, RS logo on wheel caps in Lindengreen and some other cool staff I wouldn't have known was possible if it hadn't been for the visit at Sonderwunsch in November in Stuttgart.
Was torn between a basic car for the racetrack, then as I had the chance to get PTS and one day at Sonderwunsch I went for the full monty. The price of the car in Switzerland is now in a territory which is getting at a ridiculous level you have to think at least twice if you go for it.
Best thing about it is the fact my now almost 79 year old father and my wife came with me to Stuttgart and we had a great day at Porsche which we will always remember when we drive the car as both have been involved in choosing the CXX options.
