Great pics! Looks like you had typical Spa weather (I had multiple instances of Sun, Snow, and rain in one day when I was there in 2019)
22 GT3 Manual pending, 73 Carrera RS 2.7 Carbon Fiber replica (1,890 lbs), 06 EVO9 with track mods. Former: 18 GT3 Manual, 16 Cayman GT4, 73 911S, Two 951S's, 996 C2, 993 C2, 98 Ferrari 550, 79 635CSi
IF you want to get a good feel of how the Manthey Track day was, here is a video about it.
I must say the level of that track day is unbelievable. Quite a few sub 7 minutes drivers. The GT2 MR that holds the Ring record was driving that day and a few race car drivers like Kevin Estre were driving too.
You just had to pull fast when these guys arrived But otherwise you got most of the time clean laps with no traffic as they are only 90 cars allowed for the event.

You sure got lucky with the weather guys - and good for, me your luck spilled over to the next day when we did some testing of the race car at Cirquitdays trackday.
So nice of you to invite me and Monika to the barbecue - unfortunately we needed to prepare the car.
Nice to see M3ike irl too!
This is a video from that day. It is a bit of fun to watch.
Me at the top - my co driver at the bottom.

Hi Eric - sounds like a great time! When you say there were quite a few Sub-7's, do people generally refer to their Bridge to Gantry lap times or the full laps (I know the MR Day allows you to use the full lap, but I know some people who still only compare BTG times)?
Did the guy in the Agate Gray 992 GT3 enjoy his new car there?

I did not ask . One guy has a helmet painted with '' Sub 7 '' on it. Don't know if those race car drivers and those ring experts manage to match, or get very close, to Kevin's times ??
I did not speak to the guy driving the Agate Grey 992 GT3, but I passed him twice on the Ring
There were 3 other 992 GT3.

One gets used to anything Lighter colors for sure suit the car better. It's presence on the street is closer to an RS then former GT3. The back stays too busy and fat, the mouth stays ugly, but overall I would still end up buying it if in the market for one.
So, generally it looks better in the flesh as one can avoid looking at the less pleasing parts.

+1
I got used now to the front, but driving behind the 992 GT3 ist really not a pleasure, because of that fat end.
We had one with us at Hockenheim in "indischrot/Guardsred - he was still in running in mode, so no problem to pass...

I agree. It grew on me the more we saw it. It’s very busy and I don’t think the front styling is a success but it wouldn’t keep me from buying one. I think of this car as more equivalent to a 991 RS. Not sure I would want a 992 RS if the aero gets more extreme.

The aero on the 992RS will be very extreme, but I think the Active rear wing will make it so much faster down the Döttinger Höhe in slippery mode (only way to make the car much faster without major changes to the NA Flat-6 concept).

Speaking of Dïttinger Höhe, Dave and I made another comparaison of our cars.
991..2 RS non OPF vs 991.2 RS with OPF.
Start in 3rd gear on automatic, 80 km/h, under the bridge. We both accelerated exactly the same all the way to the gantry. Not a cm difference. Nothing. Last year we tried and Dave's car with OPF started pulling away slowly at 200km/h . But not this time. Full acceleration all the way to 7th and about 250 km/h

Interesting. Is there any feeling of response difference with the individual throttles on the OPF car at part throttle?

DaveGordon:Some reviewers mentioned ‘high resolution’ throttle response on the similar Speedster motor, but I can’t say I noticed much difference.
thx

Just got back from the 'ring. A rather different experience from normal
We drove up on Wednesday morning, once we got past Saarbrücken, it was heavy rain all the way. Spent most of the time trying not to aquaplane. Eventually got to the 'ring and signed in. Very few people around - I guess the weather and Covid travel restrictions put people off.
We drove down to Adenau where we were staying around 5pm, it wasn't too bad. A lot of little rivers flowing across the road, stones, mud. When our friend drove down to join us at about 7pm, the road into Adenau around the Aral petrol station was flooded. He got through it OK, and back later, only losing his number plate to the water. I didn't think GT3s floated, but seems so.
But the heavy rain continued, and the next day revealed scenes like this:
This was Schuld, a town a little further down the valley from Adenau.
Some news footage here: https://www.france24.com/en/europe/20210715-torrential-rainfall-in-germany-leaves-several-dead-dozens-missing
A lot of people killed and still missing. A sobering reminder of what can result from extreme weather.
Thankfully Adenau wasn't as badly affected. Phones and internet were out for most of the day. A lot of flooded basements. A risk of contaminated water. I didn't hear of anything more serious than that, but I don't know for sure.
Our event was cancelled - mostly as a lot of the marshalls are volunteer fire fighters for the area, and they were of course involved in the rescue operations going on. Also the communications systems the marshalls use were out. And of course medical staff had other things on their minds.
My thoughts go out to the people of the area. A horrible situation.
