intouch1:yes...I too like the design language of Audi e cars
The design language of Audi EV cars is a continuation of their ICE design, much easier to like. Not intentionally overly futuristic like other brands are doing it.
Still...all German Tesla competitors have one big issue all together, with a few (expensive) exceptions: They suck when it comes to straight line performance. In times when Tesla prepares the Plaid and Plaid+, I expected a little bit more from Audi and Co..
Look here: Tesla X Plaid "SUV".

CGX car nut:The PPE platform with Audi’s predictive active suspension will make a tremendous automobile.
You need to wait to see the reliability of VAG products. For the ID.3 I have read some negative experiences.
Regarding drum brakes I don't have the time to look into the justification altough I know in the past VAG has said many things that was mostly marketing. One thing I know rear drum brakes don't look good.

More reliable than many other manufacturers’ products. The problem the drum brakes solve is more significant to the driver than aesthetics.

Τhere are many stories about VAG reliability on the ID.3 but other products as well. Remember the 1.4 engine with turbo & compressor? The first FSI engines? High oil consumption in a series of 1.8 & 2.0 turbo FSI engines that required new pistons? This went on for years. Tens of thousands of owners were affected.
Speaking of Audi: I am in the process of getting my boy the current A3 sedan, got a very nice offer, sedans seem to have some sorts of factory incentive in Germany, they do not sell well.
Long story short: The interior looks amazing in this price class and the 150 hp mild hybrid engine is surprisingly agile (more than enough for a beginner without overwhelming him), the chassis is as sporty as it can get in dynamic mode and steering is very direct. Fun to drive car, perfect for my son who wants to have a sporty driving feel without me worrying that he is going to kill himself.

Perfect upmarket automobile for the young novice driver. Not that many years ago, 150 bhp was considered more than adequate for much larger automobiles, especially in the States.

Again, while newsworthy this is statistically immaterial compared with overall production numbers of Volkswagen Group. Oil consumption issues typically relate to break-in period protocols; however, manufacturing defects relating to ring tension do occur. Compared with issues from some other automakers, these incidents are negligible. Ford, for example, produced millions and millions of units with defect automatic transmission detents. Hyundai and Kia currently have an issue with engine defects that cause fire.

CGX car nut:However, that interior was influenced by Lamborghini interior design.
I guess this is the reason my son loves it.

car nut seems to be part of some vw cult. Lol. Can you imagine if Tesla had so many issues and I made excuses? There is not even an Elon at VW worth worshiping - or is there?
That would explain why I am awaiting delivery of a 2022 Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing with a six speed manual.

Munro dismantles and analyzes the Volkswagen ID.4 motor, which should be identical to the one found in the Audi Q4. Overall, his impressions are that the design is well executed save for the number of mechanical fasteners. Given the amount of analysis Volkswagen Group performs there’s documented reasons why the design evolved to this configuration. https://youtu.be/3Bab6CttkEY
