Facelift of 996 for MJ04

I have heard many rumours already that there will be a 996 facelift for MJ04, that means Aug.03. Also I have heard that the new facelift will be presented at IAA show in Frankfurt in Sep03. Has anybody exacter infos ???

What will be then with the C4S & Turbo ??

Welcome aboard CHRISTIAN.

There has been alot of talks on the upcoming or rather facelift 911 (997? / 998?) on this board. I heard it'll be for MY 05/06 not 2004, plus I believe they need to do something with the Boxster line before the 911 -- may be a Boxster Turbo

I talked to my sales guy at the Houston Auto Show last week and he mentioned that June of 2003 is the last month that they'll accept deposit for 996 TT; after June of 2003 they are not allowed to accept any more deposit by PCNA.

I guess if his statement is true then 2003 would be the last year for the mighty 996 TT and the new facelift for (997 / 998) won't hurt the market for the TT anymore.

We just have to wait and see

tks. for the infos.
But I do not understand why your dealer will not accept any deposit of 996 TT after June ??? Because the 996 TT Cab. will be introduced for MJ 04, that means we will see it at IAA in Sep.03 ?? Why should they stop then the 996 TT Coupe ??

No "real" (new overworked design) facelift for the 996 MY 2004. Period.

The 996 gets technical updates every model year, updates which cannot be seen.
BUT...there are rumors about a new Boxster being around the block, however I'm not sure it will be for MY 2004. MY 2005 is more likely.

Boxster sales are down. Porsche must launch the new Boxster if they don't want to lose sales to Mercedes, BMW or Audi.

Good point about the need for a new Boxster. I think Porsche has sort of a fine line to draw. For instance what would happen if there was a Boxster with better performance stats than the base 911? Granted the 911 is a larger, heavier car, but it is still the flagship of the company and should perform the best...evan in base form. Thoughts?
