You hit the nail right on top.
I really expected nothing, but all together it made me so frustrated that I opened a case at Ferrari S.P.a. To bad I need the dealer for my warranty and 7y maintenance. so I can't reveal much right now.
At least the car is awesome in every way.
Maybe Ferrari could consider to sell their cars online, what is the benefit of a sales guy anyway?

Involving higher up is always a good idea, Ferrari dealers are like out of control brats and calling the parents to mind their kids is always the smart option.
Been there, done that.

Never had a problem with my dealer.

Nic:488 GTB vs Audi R8
Now you know why I love my R8...however...over 180 kph or so, the R8 stands no chance against the 488.
I am more afraid of crazy tuning: Met a tuned C63 sedan (previous model) last weekend on the Autobahn. The sound of that car was so loud that I couldn't hear my own engine (no kidding). From 120 kph to 300 kph, the C63 fell back slowly but steadily, still very impressive for such a car but when I had 310-315 kph on my speedo, the C63 was keeping the distance gap, it didn't fall back anymore. I stopped at the next parking occasion because I thought that the driver of that C63 would like to brag about his car and indeed, he stopped as well and we talked. "Over 600 hp" he said, no catalytic converters (which could explain the sound) and no speed limitation. He claimed that his C63 runs over 330 kph... Aerodynamics? Nah, who cares...car was completely stock. This car was just insane but of course not a bit street legal in Germany.

There's already a 2017 update with different outlook available
Are you referring to something completely new? I have the latest Virtual Cockpit software and you can only switch between Classic and Sport. Not much of a difference I'm afraid.
Audi certainly made a mistake by giving all Virtual Cockpit equipped cars basically the same GUI. This is stupid.

It is actually not new (yes, there is an update though) as I found out, you can switch between Sport and Classic modes.
I find it pretty odd that the Q7, A4, TT, R8 and so on have the same GUI design/style, this is not very clever in my opinion. Audi could easily give each car a different GUI design, this is not about the controls and menus, they can stay the same but the GUI design.
The Huracan uses essentially the same virtual cockpit, look at the GUI...completely different style.
Every Audi model deserves a different style or even better...let people choose styles...or even buy and upload them to their cars (should be possible through the update function). This would be pretty cool.

Gnil:Conny997:Don't know what the 2017 update contains. But I hope it looks like the one on the attached screenshot. No?
Yes, exactly like in my new Q7

This is the Audi virtual cockpit as well...not really my style (a bit too elegant) but a completely different GUI style.

4.5 , huge difference
I agree that all models should have their own design . It is not a huge job to do, and would give ' value' to each .
I am sure we will get there , slowly, This is only the beginning of virtual cockpits

Btw: Ferrari will have a completely digital dash as well soon as far as I heard, they always liked to use such technology while Porsche was way too conservative with it (unless recently with the Panamera).

What is the take on Audi's virtual cockpit vs BMW's head-up display? I drove neither, but maybe someone who has could chip in on the future of those two technologies / use cases.

Good question. I prefer the virtual cockpit vs. head-up displays (any kind), I just don't like using head up displays because I consider them a distraction but I know that many people love head up displays. Maybe a combination of both makes sense, I don't know but BMW certainly needs to refresh their interior(s) and I am pretty certain that some sort of virtual cockpit will be part of this refresh. It is the future and it saves car manufacturers TONS of money because they can basically use the same display on ALL models but with a different GUI. Genius!
