Porsche Cayenne Turbo (data taken from german AMS)
0-100 kph in 5.5 seconds
0-200 kph in 20.2 seconds
Impressive! The Cayenne Turbo outruns the 993 from 0-200 kph (125 mph) by around 1 second and is only around 2.5 seconds slower than the 996 C2. It is more than 4 seconds faster to 200 kph (125 mph) than the facelifted Boxster S.
Comment (based on my own experience) on the article in AMS:
AMS measured a weight of 2504 kg for the Cayenne Turbo. This makes the Cayenne around 250 kg heavier than the ML55.
First thing: you can't feel this weight, AMS is right. Second thing: the weight shows in the fuel consumption.
AMS had a fuel consumption of slighly over 23 litres but I have to confess that I couldn't get the Cayenne Turbo below 29 litres during my testdrive. Maybe it has to do with the fact, that you can't drive such a car really slow.
To return back to the weight: 2.5 tons weight and 450 HP power result in 5.5 seconds from 0-100 kph? I highly doubt it. I think that the tested car had at least 480-500 HP and I truely hope that all customer cars run that good.
We might do our own testing from 100 to 200 kph as soon as we put our hands again on a Cayenne Turbo.
Also impressive: braking distance.
From 100 kph to 0 kph in 37.5 meters (cold brake) and 38.6 meters (warm brake).
If you have more questions, ask. Our own driving report will be published as soon as we sorted out some details. We also have to prepare the pictures, unfortunately neither me nor CR had the time to do that up til now.
Sorry, guys.
