Do you want a F430 fast? Money is no issue?

A little birdy told me that customers who order a Ferrari 612 can have a F430 within two weeks or so.
I don't know if this is valid for all countries but if money is no issue to you and if you always needed a second Ferrari for cruising or your wife (or for donating to Rennteam.com ), this is how you can get your F430 much much faster. A friendly hint from some friendly people...

Re: Do you want a F430 fast? Money is no issue?

Well, seems as if the beached whale, aka as 612 Scaglietti, doesn't sell as good as Ferrari pretends...

    Beached something, for sure ...
Imagine your truthful reaction if you were told this is a new GM Buick concept car.

I have it hard to believe this,... but can be true (will ask my dealer)

Re: Do you want a F430 fast? Money is no issue?

Would be a good way to buy a 612 for $125k, if you sell the 430 for markup (too bad I still wouldn't want a 612 for that much - half price).

I believe at least in the US, the 612 is sold out for 2 years. The 430 close to four years.

Re: Do you want a F430 fast? Money is no issue?

thats rediculous if it takes that long to get ur hands on a F430...by the time u get ur car, you'll want something else.

Not that I care, I can't afford one anyway ...just sayin

A lot of these buyers were probably teenagers in 1956 fantasizing being with Ingrid Bergman when she and Eurpean royalty drove Ferrari GTs that looked just like the 612. Gotta shuttle the grandkids when they come down to visit !

Re: Do you want a F430 fast? Money is no issue?

even if the list (as nberry says) is 4 years long, it should only take a year or two. many people will back out. naturally filtering out the bsers

yeah ur probably right. Plus it seems like Ferrari says these things just as bragging rights. "Our cars are so good we have a 4 year waiting list for them!" Sorry boys, I'd rather have my car right now

To me, 612 is a butt-ugly, 4000 lb., allegedly GT car w/primitive safety systems (no side/head air bags). But I know/know of numerous 30-something, 40-something guys trading in CL55s for 612.....only F in which they can take the little rug rats for a drive, given its backseat....thus the smashing US (esp Greenwich/SF) sales success of this car that will probably depreciate like a GT2.....

    yep, mighty sad aesthetically

Why would anyone back out? The worst they can do is take delivery and flip it for $25,000- $50,000 more than what they paid for it.

Re: Do you want a F430 fast? Money is no issue?

I dropped off the list since they had my $10k and I had no confidence that my name would reach the top of the list in my lifetime...

Not true about the 612. Dealers have some in stock. That car is not selling anymore than the 456 sold. And, RC's post above is accurate, but nothing new. You could always get a desirable V8 model a bit quicker (not two weeks) if you bought a V12 model from the selling dealer. The price to pay is the huge depreciation you take almost immediately on the V12 cars.

Re: Do you want a F430 fast? Money is no issue?

funny the local dealership here, when I asked about getting a 430 faster, (not that I could pay for it) said "if you take that 456 thats been sitting forever, you might have one a LOT sooner"

Or a couple of their Masers , which have been sitting just as long . OTOH, it's probably less money out of your pocket to just hand over $50K in small bills to the salesman for the suddenly available " extra " car from the factory !

Re: Do you want a F430 fast? Money is no issue?

why buy a scag, when you can just pay 70 over???

one of my broker buds has a US 430 arriving in feb. !? and wants 70 over.... certainly less than a scag

Re: Do you want a F430 fast? Money is no issue?

I think your best bet is to buy one of the under appreciated models, for example i LIKE the maser GT coupes...get a used on, with disgusting depreciation already in place, then reap the benefit of that and a F430 youll make money on...

The 456 was a hard sell. The 612 is not. What dealer has one in inventory?

selling used ones doesn't affect their future allocations like buying new ones does. you probably won't get far buying depreciated used masers.

Re: Do you want a F430 fast? Money is no issue?

buying a new/used maser... i wont ever go that LOW to get ANYTHING done

    hahaha

Take a look at the miles on those cars.

The 2005 mileage is a mistake. That's the model year designation. The red/tan car is brand new. I saw it delivered to the dealership more than 7 weeks ago and it's been in the showroom since.

Totally agree, watt....for those not plugged in at F and want early 430, may want to swallow hard and pay the F "country club initiation fee" by buying one from F dealer at premium (so hopefully one can eventually get on the MSRP price, priority wait lists for future F products...though I suspect those priority lists are awfully long w/serial new F buyers in mkts like Greenwich/SF...aaahh, good ole capitalism) Scags are like new 575s/CL65s...cars for big boys who really like them but know they depreciate like hell. 430s (esp Spider) offer much greater, broad-based appeal to the speculator and poseur crowd...thus the more robust resale values...
