Mike S:I have no desire to own that car. These modern cars in general are getting less and less exciting for me with each new model.
Agreed, it just becomes generic stuff...

it is just not like before....i think that it is all about the design that is not up to ferrari
Agree. There is nothing about this design that says Ferrari.

Whoopsy:I know of 5 people who will be getting this car, wished I had asked for one but on second thought I don’t S I don’t want to deal with Ferrari bullshit anymore, Porsche is much better in that regards, there are no secret handshakes.
I keep hearing this from you and perhaps this is a Canada situation. It’s the other way round here in the UK. The path to the top is entirely clear and open at Ferrari - buy cars (lot’s of them) and don’t flip them. All the backhanders and neglect of real car enthusiasts is at Porsche.
On to the SF90. I like the front but the rear will take some getting used to - I was at the launch. For me its all about the tech - and there is plenty of it. Right from the electric drive elements through to the dash and head up display. Too much to take in as yet. What is clear is that this is a new dawn for Ferrari. It will drive like no other Ferrari in history. It is also democratising hypercar performance beyond the top Ferrari collectors, which can only be a good thing.
Cost?
Limited production?
will there br a cabriolet?
Design, meh.
I agree with Mike S. Cars are becoming less exciting. No doubt great performance which can rarely be used. More than likely a collector car driven occasionally to be seen.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
Whoopsy:This proves hybrid are the future, pure EV is the future after the future, if we get that far.
All the benefits of a EV and gasoline engine cars.
I would say this is the result of the tech transfer from F1 racing to road cars.
I know of 5 people who will be getting this car, wished I had asked for one but on second thought I don’t S I don’t want to deal with Ferrari bullshit anymore, Porsche is much better in that regards, there are no secret handshakes.
An ordinary EV battery ain't cheap, can't imagine what it will cost on sport cars from Ferrari and the rest
All this EV being the future = Pure BS!
Western politicians are dying to get their hands on oil for dirt cheap from oil exporting countries, while the media has been playing the same symphony brainwashing the public about climate change, someone else's pocket is getting filled with cash while they leave you and I to worry about climate change
Did you know some of the top EU countries are/were buying oil from Iran below market price before US sanctions entered into effect ?
The EU wasn't formed for its peoples sake..............Paris is paying the price..........I'll stop here....
SciFrog:No idea if it is the age or the place in my life these days, or the design or the tech which feels obsolete before it is even out, but this car does zero for me.
I do understand you very well.
This car is 4,71 m long (!), 1,97 m wide and has a boot capacity of 74 litres, which is less than in a Performante, which is 20 cm shorter. The front looks rather aggressive, but the new head lights scream Renault to me, the rear is a mess. The interior most probably is the reason why they said the new Ferrari will look like a spaceship, but I have difficulties operating all those touch (!) buttons and reading all those highly complicated screens by only looking at these first pics.
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.
Also the rear light look like they could be from a Corvette.
Surely in the flesh it will be better but so far it is a mess.
I would be much more interested in the 570 spider, the Evo spider or the Tesla Roadster, if anything simply because they are cheaper and you can actually buy one if you wanted at some point.

I don't know, perhaps it is more dealership dependent. I had been buying from my previous Porsche dealer for almost 20 years, so even without the 918 VIP situation I will be at the top. They did burnt the bridge down and I am off to another dealership but that one honoured my long history with Porsche with open arms to them.
There isn't a second Ferrari dealership around so everyone is at their mercy, and they pretty much act like every other North American Ferrari dealers with regards to secret handshakes, or more precisely greed to them. Back then, they had the audacity to tell me if they give me a LaFerrari, I can't drive it and had to titled it and flip it with them, I refused and they sent that allocation to someone else who will partner with them.
Whoopsy:Modern dry sump engines are really compact, that Ferrari engine is basically mounted just as low as a 918 V8, top of cylinder head is pretty much knee height. In the 918's case, the top empty space is occupied by the exhaust system.
But the 918 sounds much better because it is naturally aspirated.

918 is much better because in 918 case it was racing engine. Modified, but racing. This one - normal roadcar engine with some gizmos.
Technically it is almost on par with 918, but with weaker e-machines and battery. 6 years later))
Design is a disaster. Front - copy of pininfarina, rear - brick. And whats interesting with recent ferrari designs, I have forgotten how does f8 tributo looks like. The same will be with this car. No identity. When you look at it you dont see ferrari. Too much complex artificial lines. Maybe for lexus it is ok, but not for ferrari.

According to an insider , car in real life will weight 1886 kgs !
This car is there to help Ferrari with the future strict EU emissions rules.
In terms of ecology , it's a pure non sense . ( overweight, batteries , fuel consumption etc ..)
Politically correct at its best !
Design wise , front is nice , same for the side view but the rear is a complete mess .
Flavio manzoni mission is to design cars for new's rich around the world ( F8 tributo is another car with busy design too )
and they will succeed, no doubt .
Icona range is there to satisfy " classical" owners but they are the minority right now .
