Carrera GT - tested again on the Nuerburgring Nordschleife

According to one of our well informed Users, german car magazine SPORT AUTO tested again the Carrera GT on the Nuerburgring Nordschleife, this time under perfect driving conditions (first test wasn't too significant because the Nordschleife wasn't completely dry).
The driver was again Horst von Saurma, Editor-In-Chief of SPORT AUTO and well known race car driver.
His time: 7 min. 32,44 sec. ...WOW!!!

They weren't able to complete a whole flying lap due to wet surfaces on parts of the track. Combined it would be around 7:30 - 7:35 min.!

Posting numbers behind the seconds' digits is rather ridiculous on that track - since he wasn't on a qualifying lap!

I'd say that some drivers would be able to get even below 7:30, at least I'd imagine Alzen, Stippler and some other Nürburgring greats would be able to! On the other hand this car is much more difficult to drive, especially on a circuit like this!

Is the supposedly upcoming .75" height adjustment feature on CGT designed for a permanent change of set-up or is height variable at touch of button? If set-up is permanent, should be interesting to see how much height affects track times. Also, what are comparable track times for latest version of GT2 and TTS w/X73 and X75? I suspect track time gaps between GT2/TTS and a raised CGT are fairly underwhelming...

...but those clever marketing people at P will probably mysteriously have difficulty finding copies of these cars for someone to independently document the performance gaps within the lineup

Awesome time.
In the previous test they managed 7:40.

Didn't Rohl achieved 7:28 already?

He is Michael Hölscher, Carrera GT Project Manager.

How could you tell from these low-res photos? Were you able to enlarge them without losing too much detail?

Just click on the link "Photo 1, 2, 3...ecc" and you'll get a better resolution

fritz, believe me: what you see now, is not even 5% of the final design, well actually it isn't even 1%.

We did stylesheet adjustment in a real special ops operation and we're waiting for the final software version to be released to start what we should have started a long time ago. A little bit of patience...it might pay off.

This 7:32 was done by Von Saurma not Walter Rohrl, so its quite impresive since he is not a test driver. The 7:32 serves for a more fair comparison of the CGT with other cars that were also tested by Von Saurma (ej: Zonda 7:44, GT2 7:46, SLR 7:50, Murc 7:52).

no, no, its a MkI GT2, not a MkII. I'm not aware of any MKII times by Saurma.

SportAuto's test of MkII GT2 was not a so-called "Supertest". It was carried out by Jochen Uebler, not Horst von Saurma, and did not include the Nürburgring northern loop lap-time.
