    new limited edition RS - any info?

    I got told by dealer about the new RS limited edition being released next year. Word is it will look like the 72RS and is being offered only to best customers. Pricing is perhaps around GT2 levels or more. Does anyone have more info?

    How will it look different from the 2007/2008 RS which was already made to look like the 73RS (especially when ordered in White with Red script and wheels)?

    how can you justify pricing an RS beyond a GT2??? it may be worth more in the future, but how can that be today! it has to be an N/A engine, i.e. max. 3.8 liters, max 450 bhp, and porsche ain't into anything below 1500 units, so how!

    Notice a trend ? There is so much " new " money in parts of the world that didn't even have paved roads 30 years ago , much less historic race tracks , that everyone is climbing onto the gravy train , decades of careful brand management be danged.

    I'd only be half joking if I were to state there is a GT3 RS Cabriolet or GT2 Cab in the pipeline . Marketing is probably already pushing that , what with the Scuderia SPIDER coming .

    Here in California , I'm sure the GT3RS Cab or GT2 Cab would outsell the coupes ,assuming no artificial production contraints and the usual coupe /cab price differential .

    SCUDERIA cabrio - another joke
    Pure marketing, nothing more.
    They were meant to be coupes, because they were born for performance

    No doubt they would outsell the coupes in California
    I have my thougts about clientele of such cars

    your dealer is drinking way to much new zealand sauvignon blanc. that is total bulls$#t. there will be a 997 gt3 mk2. there might be a 997 mk2 rs. the rs is the special eddition 911 along with the gt2. i swear to god, some of the things i have heard dealers say......

    Thanks, no offense taken, there is far too much on that on these boards.

    No the thing I heard is that it will look almost the same at the 72 RS with ducktail and very different body work. It will not simply be the new RS with paint. I am told will be only 1-2 in NZ. Given we got the only one PD1 in NZ of a WW run of 777, I would imagine less than 1000 prduced.

    In my experience of dealing with OPCs they tend to know as much as my grandmother when it comes to new car release...

    I can't see a RS sitting above GT2 on the price ladder... The car is just not that special anymore (i mean exclusive). ... Don't get me wrong i have an LOI in for a 997.2 RS but if it goes beyond Pounds100k base i will not bother...

    Lastly :- RS / GT3 Cabrio..... Can't be mentioned in the same sentence or it will be the final nail in the coffin !!!

    Not sure it will be more than GT2 but priced pretty high.
