    Interesting article, and it sounds like trustworthy. The following section interests me:
    "It's not as straightforward as it sounds,' says says Dürheimer. 'On the one hand, I still want purism like the feel of every loose chipping through the rim of the steering wheel. But on the other hand, marketing urges me to fit a parking aid complete with rear-mounted camera and beeper.'"

    Shows that the interviewee is clearly an engineer... one of the good guys

    Yes, but it also shows how such good guys have quite a bit of resistance from the bad guys

    But: CVT may replace manual
    Also I don't understand why they have to redesign the nose due to Pedestrian Protection Regulations. There are no hard parts (engine) in the front of the Porsche sportscars

    Very interesting read. I wonder hos Porsche will pull the whole camera thing off since the won't have side mirrors. The EU legislations are a nightmare but I hope they won't ruin the classic front end of the 911.

    Durheimer runs Porsche R&D so he knows what he is talking about. Georg Kacher is probably the best automotive journalist in Europe, and has better access to the German OEMs than anyone. Great insight from Georg once again.
