Looking to Purchase a 993

Been thinking lately of purchasing a nice 993 but I'm not familiar with the con's of the model.

What should I look out for?

Is there a particularly bad model/year?

Is their a particularly better model/year?

Is there anyone that knows of a specialist in this model in South Florida?

Any pointers you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Check out the 993 forum on http://forums.rennlist.com
There is a VERY active 993 /classic 911 community much more so than here- which is focused on late models/news.

Second the Rennlist reference, thats the "Air breathing" community lots of knowledge there

My suggestion is to stick with 97 or 98 models as they have the "varioram" induction...just look at the intake and you will see "varioram" embossed on there...a classic, but they are pricy indeed!

All 96's had Varioram too. You cannot rely on seeing "Varioram" embossed to know if the motor has it. Some of the early Vram cars didn't have the embossed writing. The most obvious clue (aside from the model year) is that the Varioram cars had metal intake runners and the non-Vram car had plastic like 964.

Thanks! I saw a few Turbo's for sale and was floored by the high prices. Is the same true for a 4 or 4S?

4S is quite valuable, but C4 is not worth much more than C2 (if at all). Can get a nice one for $35k.
