    Pick up my Gallardo

    Just picked up my Pearl Yellow Gallardo last evening, the interior is black/yellow, caliper is also yellow. It is a very beautiful car! Comapre with my Porsche turbo, it is much much more fun. The sound of downing shifting is really great. But I think the exhasut is not as loud as expect, especially when it is idle. I want to modify the exhaust system to a very loud one with more bass. But not those Ferrari like, high tone one. Do you guys have any suggestion?

    It's raining in HK these few days, I will try to take some nice pic when the Sun comes out.
    I think tubistyle exhaust system for Gallardo sound a bit like Ferrari. I am still searching more info about it.

    Congrats.

    IMO, the sound of the Gallardo is pretty disappointing. I heaard one at full pelt go past me in Manchester a few weeks back, and all it sounded like was a Ford Focus with a fat exhaust or some riced up Supra, sorry to say. On the other hand, a few days later, I maanged to hear a 360 at full pelt, now THAT was a noise! I can't wait to hear the 430.

    Curiously, why didn't you get a 430?

    That's because I would assume he ordered the Gallardo many months ago and the f430 in RHD for the HK market probably won't be available before a year.

    I'm not 100% sure but doesn't Lamborghini offer an optional sport exhaust for the Gallardo in Europe? Maybe a retrofit is possible? It sounds great, I heard it at the 997 presentation.
    Congrats, Chris...good choice. Post some pics as soon as the sun comes out. But of course drive it first.

    I am also about to get in line for the F430,

    My plan is to drive it about 2000 miles and sell it for a small profit.

    but as you hinted, it is a 2~ year wait.

    Lamborghini has a sport package which include sport exhaust, sport suspension and sand leather steering wheel.
    I didn't take this option since I think the sport suspension will be too stiff for the road of HK and I don't really like the sand leather steering wheel.
    Actually, I requested to have the sport exhaust only, but the dealer said Lamborghini S.P.A won't do it except I order the whole sport package.
    I don't understand why they can't just offer sport exhaust as a single option instead of the sport package.

    Chris, have you been advised what optional features you can order for the F 430? Is adjustable ride height like the Enzo's available?

    You did not ask. But I think your idea might not be too wise. Who knows what the resale value of the 430 in two years with 2000 miles on the clock will be? I would never buy a car like that just for 2000 miles... If you buy it, keep it

    There is not much info. about the options at this moment, I was only told that I can have the ceramic brake option. However, I will find out with the dealer if they have more updated info.

    Is it possible to deactivate the passenger airbag in the Gallardo like you can in other Audi models and in the 997?

    Temm, I just picked it up for 2 weeks and drove it for less than 500km, still not yet very familiar with it. For your question, I have never try it and not yet find it out, but I think it's possible. BTW, I hope I can take some pic of it this week, seems the Sun is coming out.
