The V10 would make it front-heavy. That said, even a 4.2 TT would be enough for 500+ PS.

Interesting. They would have to release that soon otherwise it will be too close to the RS5 launch. But 450hp RS5 isn't much when you consider that you could get almost 500hp out of a C63 by simply reflashing the ECU. And I can guarantee that if it is going to be around 450hp, it will be more than 451 as that is what C63 produces.

When it has to compete against an M3 and AMGc63. The RS4 had 420 hp and it was no match for the competing cars. 30 hp bump is negligible for such a heavy car.
Audi has the opportunity to leapfrog the the other two companies with a turbo charge 4.2 V8, which would provide gobs more torque, but chose not to do so for fear it will outperform the true exotic R8.

I have to disagree with you here. Why? NEW is NOT always better.
Example 1.
Current VW Golf GTI engine from 113 family is better then new 888 family engine in new Scirocco. Old engine has much better throttle response. Also DSG in Scirocco is tuned to use almost NO engine brake at all(truth even in GTI DSG engine brake is used very rare).
Some journalist tried new S4(preproduction model) with manual gearbox and prefered current S5 since it has much more linear power delivery and way better throttle response then new 3.0TFSI Kompressor in S4...
