    Re: More Pictures of 430E

If somebody makes ALWAYS the same (boring) designs, it must be porsche with the 911, doesn't it, ........ they seem to be unable to make something new AND exiting, something witch Ferrari always does !!!

The F430 is STUNNING, ... I REALLY LOVE THE CAR, and I'm waiting on my delivery !

You call it "boring" design, I call it decent and quite...
I am glad that the 911 has such a modest look (compared to other high end cars).

    Re: More Pictures of 430E

    jennyz,

I think the Ferraris are beautiful more so than Porsches even, more spectacular, more sporty, etc. The 911 lines are very special to me, but objectively speaking side by side an F430 for example is much better looking car. Its aggressive design is part of the charm of it.

That said because its so spectacular, I don't like the attention it brings, thats a severe downside IMO that would severly lower the usefullness and pleasure I would get from driving the car. I don't like people to turn their heads as I go by, I don't like people pre-judging me becuase of the car I drive, I don't like people to wanting to take pictures next to my car becuase of how it looks, etc. Thats a negative aspect of its beautiful looks, ironically some (not all) people buy a Ferrari just for those reasons exactly and miss out on what the Ferrari really has to offer inside.

One of the best things about the Porsches threfore is that it gives you the same or even better performance without all the fuss nor half of the attention. That modest look to me and other people is very very important, if the Porsche 911 would look like the F430, I guarantee you I wouldn't be driving one and have to look somewere else for my driving pleasure, I'm not saying it has to look dull like a sedan, these are sportcars, but Porsche has got the right balance (for some people at least like myself since that is a very personal view and only a matter of tast/prefs, all respectable).

I'm just happy both styles/philosophies exist.

This is the same situation as with the 612, the F430 is a jumble of Enzo and 360 mushed together with whatever else comes to your mind when you look at the new car.

I agree they have taken one of ferraris best ever and just made it to busy. I think it looks cheap just the way the countach started looking in the late 80's like a kit car.

As far as seeing it in your rearview mirror. Don't hold your breath as most will collect dust. I do think they improved one part though. I really like the headlights. Those colored lenses look cool to me. Does anyone else like the look of those lights?

Here is the best looking 360 i have seen, simple and pure.

I'll agree with you on the 911 thing, I do like them, but they are boring.........but nothings as ugly as all those new Bangleized BMW's.

    Re: More Pictures of 430E

I know there is no question in terms of Porsche vs. Ferrari reliability. Also, the 911 has a design all it's own, and it's extrememly classy, not a mix up of odd shapes as with the F430. Keep in mind that the 911's shape is quite original as well.

The 360 seems to be quite reliable. Some CEL issues, like all late-model cars, but essentially not much to choose between Porsche and Ferrari in reliability now.

    Re: More Pictures of 430E

I've yet to see a ferrari with 180.000km (through snow, yeat, tracks, etc)
What about the fire hazard when crashing? How many 360s ended in a fireball after a crash?

Yeah the Dealership here on Long Island told me the newer Ferrari's have been very reliable. Remember that most Ferrari owners have other cars and sometimes the cars will sit. There is a right and wrong way to do this, if done right they can be VERY reliable cars.
