As an owner of a 135i, I can tell you that the 135i's main weakness is not the engine, but the softly sprung suspension that is designed to understeer (a lot actually), lousy RFT, and the lack of LSD. I have already chipped my car and add a set of free flowing downpipes. I have a set of KW clubsport suspension coming along with a set of wider wheels up front. Then I am putting in a LSD. Deciding between Quaife and Drexler at the moment. When I am done with it, I would dare say it will be as quick if not faster than a M3, for less money!

That may apply to the USA owners where car prices are so low, but not to me. Why? Because a 135i cost $72k and a M3 cost $163k. $91k is a lot of money for mods! lol. Mods cost the same whether in US or here, so I will end up spending $20k on mods which will make my car M3 quick.

Everything you mentioned has been planned for except for the Brembo (already comes with 6 pot Brembo but Brembo has developed a BBK).

At those prices modding does make sense. Have fun!
Can you set some lap times and straight line times before and after modding?

No straightline times, but I have dyno figures to show before and after so far. And also track times. Once I have more data I will let you guys know. Next track day is 7th Sept (3rd one with the car). First track day was standard car and did 1.29.6 as the fastest time. Second track day with catless DP I did 1.28.7. Now I have a chip in there I will be keen to see the difference. In terms of dyno numbers, stock was 183kw atw, with DP was 192kw, and with a chip as well brings it to 240kw atw. Power wise the car is now a monster.

From what I understand the stock Brembos are useless on the track. BMW does offer a reasonably-priced performance brake kit for it, so perhaps that's better than standard. However, I'd still prefer monioblock Brembos if it were my own car to mod.
