    New daily driver!

    Yesterday i picked up my new daily driver. Its a 535d, more or less fully equiped. Its an amazing car. I did the first 80 miles and have to say I love it. Highlights are the Headup and night vision system. I'm a gadget boy and really love this toys I think thats a good match to our Porsche and Mini, for every mood the right car.

    congrats Lars. The 5 Series is still a very good looking car, especially with the M-Package.
    Which color is it?

    Congrats on the new car, looking great!
    Could you please make pictures of the HUD and the nightvision?
    I heard about it, but never sene it in real life, really curious what it looks like!

    Why did you choose Bimmer diesel instead of Merc or Audi if I may ask

    This car will give you very good service.

    How did you choose it over a comparable model from other manufacturers especially Mercedes or Audi? Could you analyse your buying decision?

    Congratultions, I drive 530d since March 2004 and still everything works great, is very good daily car and nice compromise between comfort and sportiness

    Congrats Lars! I met one on the A3 yesterday and had some fun with it. It's amazing how well these diesels go .

    Congrats, Lars I've got the same colour on my 5 series daily driver, though mine is a bit more thirsty (petrol eater..).
    Quite comfy and very reliable (no probs whatsoever after 50 tkm)

    The color is "Space Grey".

    Some of you asked why I didnt choose Merc or Audi. For me the Bimmer is the right mix between Sport, Comfort and Space. Even as I come from the Merc region, I have to say that those cars are not that well anymore. I had a E320CDI car for 4 weeks (rental) before I bought that BMW. The car was to comfortable for me, to soft, the steering dont give you any details back. Fruther on, the E-Class design is just not me. Then the successor will come next year and I have planned to keep the BMW anything between 2 and 3 years - would be right in time to the BMW successor.

    The Audi is ok, but even here the A6 Limo is the typical "teacher" car - I think you know what I mean. This car is robust and boring. The suspension is if you take it sport to stiff and the car jumps on the street.

    Next to all desicision, I think this Diesel engine is something the competitors cant offer. The aggregate is very strong, reliable and performs as good in Sporty as in Comfy mode. So that was my ratio for buying this car.

    @Jost, I will try making pictures for the HUD and Night Vision asap.

    Nice. Too bad we don't get the diesel engine here in the U.S.

    I would be nice to have a 5-Series that could top 30mpg.
