This looks exactly like a 997 mkII, and its got bolt on fender flares. Cumon: how could this be a 998?!?!?! Don't you think Porsche would put MORE into a 998?

Some dudes with ugly bodykits don't drive around Nordschleife on test days (track closed to the public)
These days it's simply not possible to drive around NoS without getting spotted by some spy photographers.

ok, now that this is a sticky post, I can already see a 70pages thread about the 991 model, just like the 997.2 thread !!!!
I love those wheels, also they will be pretty easy to clean !!!

Isn't it quite common, that the very first test mules are done in the body of the current or even an older model?
EDIT:
BTW gents, we have a sticky thread already!
So we now have to reach at least 2003 posts...

Can somebody see what is happening with the directional (I mean that little light in the front wheelarch)? If it flows with the line of the exended fender, it might tell us something about whether this is a definitive shape or just some camo. It struck me that the panel gap in the rear quarter pane is also present in the flared fender, thus suggesting that it is a shape that will be definitive?

Who knows if its another 997.2 version or a 991 on a 997 body, the camo does not point to anything in particular, could be either, but what we can see its that whatever it is, its a base version of either and not GT3 or RS because those brakes are very small (base carrera o boxster size), there is no middle radiator, and the exhausts exit on the sides.
Also the wider wheel arches look like camo add ons to throw people off because the wheels them selves don't look like they are set wider apart needing and filling those wider wheel arches.
So my guess its a 991 carerra mule in very early testing using the 997 shell.

I bet the exterior design for 991 is still on the board and papers.
