Both cars have significantly higher weights than their predecessors (Mitsu 1625 kg, Subaru 1524 kg). Therefore laptimes and performance numbers are rather unspectacular.
Lancer has less but still impressive turn-in, very neutral with little understeer, the later much more prominent in the Impreza which has a better suspension setup. Double-clutch gearbox and brakes on the Lancer are very good, brake performance on the Impreza rather poor after consecutive braking. Both post 0 - 100 kph at around 6 seconds flat, fuel consumption (rather spirited driving at SportAuto) at 16,9 (Mitsu) and 15,5 litres.

The EVO AWD system is superior on all surfaces, imo. It is the most sophistocated of any awd car.

but on impreza you can set manually the torque balance front/rear...

Actually Sportauto was rather disappointed and they made some very critical remarks - the new models are not that agile anymore (too much weight) and hence they scored less points than their predecessors.
