    There is page 2 and 3 also. PDK? They did not like it too much...

    I read all the pages. I thought that they just drove in 'D' and let the PDK automatically pick when to shift.

    I just read the article, and I felt the author didn't like the PDK so much! am I right??? Porsche claims they have re-invented the double-clutch with their PDK... somehow I feel the manual gear box will still be the one to have... non-manual gear boxes have not been porsche's strong points... they have always been behind... any thoughts!!

    no pdk when i order a 997.2 gt3.
    unless they come up with something clever to replace the buttons.

    I hear you... unless they are ferrari-style paddle shifters, or a floor-style stick like the cup gear box (or WRC rally cars), I ain't interested... those front-buttons are weird!!!

    for what it's worth, my '03 Audi A4 had a tip transmission with similar buttons on the steering wheel, i used them ONCE in 3 years...i just did not see the point. the tranny would override you anyway if you tried to ride one gear longer than optimal. I think the only reason to pick the PDK is if you KNOW you will be driving the car in heavy traffic on a regular basis.

    I use the bottons on my Cayenne when I need to kick it down a couple of gears for a quick pass. Otherwise, they are ignored.

    It's a great compromise for those living in a big city that use the 911 daily driver.
