    MKII looks a bit like mercedes clk style (inside that is)...

    the lower part is the turning light. as in the cayenne.

    Geez..., now that you show it, that's too much space (in the left picture) to allocate just for the headlights on our cars.

    The turning light? Is it _really_ necessary? I mean is it a "must-have" option like heated seats and SC?

    I can't think of one time I made a turn at night where I wished I could see sideways.

    So when drifting sideways through a bend, would the turning lights point in the direction you're heading or the direction of the wheels ??

    My BMW has this feature. It works exceptionally well and provides a real safety benefit. However, on the BMW, the full xenon beam swivels as the car turns through a curve. With the Porsche system, is there a separate (non-xenon?) light that turns through a curve?

    Yup! Good question. I'll make sure it's total darkness next time I drift (which is never).

    actually the lights would point in the other direction...you would be counter steering...right ?

    They sit below the main lights, where currently the fog lights/indicators are located.
