    Nürburgring Nordschleife:

The Nürburgring Nordschleife is considered to be the most challenging track in the world. The track spans over 20.8 km and has got almost all types of corners, extremely fast and very slow. Legendary F1-driver Jackie Stewart invented the famous nickname for the track - The Green Hell. Until 1976 F1-races were held at the track. The absolute lap record around the track is 6:11.13 was set by Stefan Bellof in a Porsche 956 back in 1983. During scheduled times of almost the entire year the track is open for the public where you can take your own car around the track.

    First race: 18 June 1927
    Lenght: 20,832 km
Number of corners: 73 (33 left, 40 right)
    Largest decent: 17%
    Largest rise: 11%
    Highest point: 620 meters
    Lowest point: 320 meters

Supercar laptimes at Nüburgring Nordschleife "The Green Hell":

    7.22 BMW M3 CSL Loaded

isn't it the car of the latest getaway in stockholm ?

    Re: Loaded CSL 7.22 video

He could have been a few seconds quicker as well, looking at the amount of times he had to dodge other cars...awesome.

The CSL really is some car.

Modded CSL, yes. None the less it's pretty fast.

    Re: Loaded CSL 7.22 video

    Impressively fast :O

    Re: Loaded CSL 7.22 video

    Thanks for posting.

    1. Simply incredible sounding engine.
    2. The driver was just about perfect.
    3. The car seems perfectly balanced at all times.
    4. Overall, probably the most impressive Ring video I've ever seen!!!

Yes the lack of drama is astonishing at these speeds. Both car and driver are superb.

The 2003 CSL clearly has the potential to beat the latest and greatest sports cars, and may still be the best dual purpose track and practical car (without the roll cage but with engine, brake and suspension upgrades) available today. And even a stock CSL beats most exotica at the Ring while remaining very practical and stealthy.

Quite an achievment from a humble 3 series.

And the guy has some really huge balls (I guess).Where it's possible, he's full on the gaz.

I love the ring but still have alot to learn.

Hi Cram I guess even if we had bigger balls than him , Richard Göransson (2x STTC champion) would wave bye bye to us at Hatzenbach latest (in my case maybe even as early as Antoniusbuche - LoL)

Simply amazing to watch the vid....

BTW the amateur drivers with balls made of steel still are practicing even in the winterly Eifel

It's not a GT3, but I guess it's the right colour for you at least

    Re: Loaded CSL 7.22 video

40.000 supercharged track miles with no rebuilds and street legal is very impressive - compared to a GT3 cup, which needs frequent engine rebuilds and is not street legal.

ESS Supercharged M3 CSL breaks record

"Loaded", a 2003 BMW M3 CSL with ESS VT3 SC system has set a new street legal record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with the time 7:22.9. This car has over 40.000 supercharged track miles on it with no rebuilds to date.

    Re: Loaded CSL 7.22 video

6 seconds quicker than the Pagani Zonda F (which was also recently posted), impressive and congrats to the team!

    Re: Loaded CSL 7.22 video

Would something very bad happen to a Porsche owner who changed to a CSL?

Unless you need a true 4-seater I would definitely keep your 996tt x50. What's more important to you - track handling or Autobahn performance?

Perhaps the yet to be released V8 CSL may be a winner, however.

I'm still sckeptical about the CSL's state of tune tested by Sport Auto (7:50). We'll never know. Given the high speed nature of the Ring, high powered cars have significant advantages on those long straights. Assuming the braking is on par, the CSL would need much higher cornering speeds to "just" hang in, never mind posting better times.

No question, however, about the one tested here. Simply AWESOME!

    Re: Loaded CSL 7.22 video

    CSL?

Track handling is more important to me than autobahn performance. Autobahns have heavy traffic much of the time which makes driving at the limit of the car an infrequent event. And they are public roads, not race tracks.

However, a supercharged CSL will beat a Turbo on the track (light weight and intrinsic chassis balance allows more speed to be carried through corners) and match a Turbo's straight line speed.

    Re: Loaded CSL 7.22 video

what has THIS CSL had done to it? or is it a LM car? I cant tell from the vid? it seems very loud however;)

The car definitely is one of it's kind.
On their website there seem to be 8 pages with all the mods-too many to count However I couldn't find some basics like HP or weight
    http://loaded.se/default.asp?c=car

Amazing that they still got the car registered as streetlegal with this endless list of mods.

OK - we can agree on something afterall.

Why would they use a Supercharger rather than a Turbo? Aren't Superchargers better for lower revving engines? They also take power (fuel) to run, while providing instant power - no turbo lag.
