Thanks for those numbers! So, it is confirmed from two magazines R8 is indeed faster as manual...
Apparently Von Horst has difficulty making the most out of sequential type transmissions.

You are wrong here... Why? For Spanish magazine driver was local guy and he was also faster with manual.
Alain Prost(I do belive that you know who he is) also tested both versions of R8 for one Italian magazine and he was also faster with manual. He claime that in some curves R-Tronic actually beeps the throttle little bit too much. So, heel and toe technicque is still the best one(if you know what are you doing...)...
And with new DSG on horizont we could see the death of sequential manuals(a la F1 or R-Tronic/e.gear) in true sportscars. But, like it or not-good old manual will remain here are true enthusiasts first choice...

Interesting. FWIW, according to Ferrari the F1 is faster than manual in the 430. They claim the 430 was designed (engine/suspension) for the F1. Whether this is marketing bull I do not know but I for one will always opt for anything other than manual or Tip.
