Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

Last week of October I decided to drive to the Lamborghini factory to check out whether I had chosen the correct color combination for my upcoming LP640 Roadster. While we were there we also visited a few other manufacturers.

    SUMMARY:
    November 7
Home - Modena Italy: 1099km, left at 9AM and arrived 10hrs later.

    November 8
Modena - Sant'Agatha - Campogalliano - San Cesario sul Panaro - Sant'Agatha - Modena: factory visits etc (see pics)

    November 9
Modena Italy - Porrentruy Switzerland: +/- 550km, left at 9PM and arrived 9hrs later (we did 3hrs over 25km, if you ever go there try avoiding the outer ring of Milan!)
Porrentruy Switzerland - home: 670km, left at 7.30PM and arrived 5.30hrs later.

We did around 2400km in 3 days. My Porsche 997 turbo did an awesome job, it was an excellent compagnon for the long trip If ever someone plans to buy a 996/997 make SURE you go for the adaptive sportseats, they absolutely rock!

1st stop: Lamborghini Factory, Sant'Agatha Bolognese
A few nice Audi's owned by the personel:

    The factory itself:

    Lamborghini Reventon:
    Talk about a raging Bull!

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

    And off he goes ...

The Reventon is an excellent example of a car that you need to see in real life before approving or disapproving it.
When I saw a picture of that car the very first time I thought "WTF?!?". When I saw it on video it wasn't that much better. And then I got to see it in the flesh ...
I adore the Murci but really ... this is no comparison, the Reventon has SOOO much presence it's simply ridiculous. It seemed to have the exact same kind of response on all the people that were there that moment.

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

    2nd stop: Pagani
I was only able to shoot a few pics of the Zonda F Roadster in their showroom. Luckily it was a special car, the one with the full carbon body. In the workshop they were doing the last checks on car number 86 (a coupé) ... this was the most beautiful configuration I have ever seen IRL or on picture. Car number 85 was ready for delivery, not my taste but special nevertheless: combo of carbon with yellow body bodyparts and the wing of the Zonda S.
What stands out the most on the Zonda's IMHO is their interior. For me it's one of the best in the industry.

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

    3rd stop: B-Engineering
Very friendly people working here. Unfortunately the Edonis wasn't there, it was at a car Show in another city.
We were able to shoot 2 pics of what should become the next Edonis:

Apart from that they have a few vintage Bugatti's/Ferrari's and lambo's in maintenance. One of them was pretty special: the prototype Bugatti EB110:

    Another Bugatti:

And finally a Lamborghini Miura SV:

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

    4th stop: Automobili Bugatti
As everyone surely knows this factory is closed. Apparently it has been bought by a clothing manufacturer but they don't seem to boher much about the facility at this time. What is even worse is that the testing track behind the old factory is completely wasting away
This is how it looks like nowadays:

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

5th stop: Back to the Lamborghini factory ... I wanted to buy some stuff from the store but I completely forgot about it because of all the commotion around the Reventon
Result: a great poster and a Murciélago Roadster in brushed steel:

    (my apologies for the flash)

That's it. We also had a visit planned to the Museo Ferruccio Lamborghini but we were deadtired and it was already getting late. We had a long way back home the next day so we head back to the hotel.

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

The way home. All went fine apart from the terrible traffic jam in Milan. Weather in Italy was nice (around 16-17* Celsius) but when we passed through the Gotthard tunnel in Switzerland things looked a bit less interesting. Snow all around, we heard warnings on the radio that snowtires were necessary etc. Not a nice thing to hear when you are running on 325's at the rear
In the ned it was ok, the left lane of the highway was full of snow but the right lane was ok. And once you are out of the Gotthard tunnel you slowy start descending so the roads were clear after a few minutes:

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

We arrived at Lamborghini Affolter in Porrentruy, Zwitserland around 6PM. This is one of or even THE biggest Lamborghini garage in Europe. A part of the garage is rented by one of their customers, he stores his complete Lamborghini collection there (around 15-20 cars in total), quite impressive to say the least. This person is one of the lucky guys who gets to own the reventon by the way. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of that area.
The reason I really wanted to go to Affolter or Ital Car Design was simple: they will produce and deliver the carbon hardtop for my car as well as the automated remote doors.
A few pics of their showroom cars:

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

And then it was time to really head home. This is how the Porsche looked when we got back:

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

    CONCLUSION:
It was an awesome experience which will be repeated when Lamborghini has it's next production models on the road.
At the Lambo factory we weren't allowed to see the Gallardo line. Most probably because they are working on something special there atm. I did see a Gallardo with a very strange exhaust setup at the R&D parking lot, something we were not supposed to see ... perhaps a V8 version? Who knows ... time will tell

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

A great read Rami, thanks for posting

    And the Reventon looks insane

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

    Nice report Rami.

    And you colour choice is...?

BTW, did you like Grigio Avlon in person?

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

wow, fantastic tour&pics! The reventon looks better in your pics...

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

Jeebus! Love the picture amigo. The Reventon looks a lot better in your pictures than anyone else's. Again, we have more supercar pornography.

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

    Very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

Great thread! Looks like you had an awesome time, and thanks for the pictures!

That Reventon does look fantastic in your pictures, one might have to become my background, if that's alright.

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

    x 1000

Thanks for sharing the photos - Awesome

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

Great photography Rami, thank you for posting.

You got pictures from all the Italian supercar makers, even Pagani.

I like the look of the Carbon wing on the 640LP.

The Reventon pictures are amazing, perfect timing.
The car is an absolute beast.

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

    Yes more superb rennteamer photography.

The reventon looks like a stealth fighter. It looked good in your photo's. Amazing wheels. I also like the tunnel entrance pic. The eb110 looks like a kit car.

    Thanks for sharing.

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

Enjoyed those, thanks Rami. Some amazing cars there. Thanks for taking time to post details of your trip.

Re: Supercar Valley - Lots of pics!

Thank you for all the pics. I love the three Lamborghini adds that you posted. Hilarious!
