    Porsche Sales Up

    In the USA.

Porsche had its second-best ever October sales with 2,862 units in the United States. In the first 10 months of 2007 Porsche has sold 29,140 new cars, which likely will repeat last year's record sales.

997's achieved record October sales with 972 units sold, up 39 percent over last October sales of 697. This year, 997 sales are 10,805, representing a 10 percent increase over year-to-date sales last October of 9,859.

Cayenne sales that had a 46 percent increase, with sales of 1,184 versus 809 Cayennes sold last October. Year-to-date, there were 10,061 Cayennes sold, up 13 percent over October 2006 sales of 8,869.

Boxster sales of 316 were an increase of 13.3 percent over last October sales of 279.

Dealers also sold 556 Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned cars in October vs. 493 for the same period last year.

Those ad hoc media gangs of Marque Wreckers, Brand Sabotuers and False Adulators who dwell in Leafy Suburbs worshipping their Maranello key fobs have failed to destroy Porsche reputation! Sales will continue to climb!

Porsche's proven scientific marketing dialectic is unstoppable!

    Re: Porsche Sales Up

Hey Jim... unless you collect a check from Porsche I'm not sure how this is such a great thing. I just want to see them put more dollars into REAL R&D and give back a little more to longtime Porsche customers. I'm still shocked at the way they've let their dealers handle the GT2 allotment.

    Re: Porsche Sales Up

I know their checks clear, but I havent gotten one.

Sorry about the GT2, But none of the dealers are owned by Porsche and it is a violation of federal trade laws for Porsche to dictate/regulate/enforce sales prices. Notice that MSRP is just that..Manufacturers SUGGESTED retail price...so when dealers get the big greedy eye on limited availability models there is not much Porsche can do.

Many Porsche stores have a history of price gouging.
From 964 Speedsters, 993 Turbo S's, the intro of the Boxtser S,996TT's,GT3's,GT3RS's etc.. Do they lose some customer "goodwill?" Yes.

Do other buyers step in to make up for lost business? Yes.

    Re: Porsche Sales Up

I guess these sales relate to orders that pre-date the banking and financial market turmoil due to the sub-prime mortgage crisis. I'm interested to see how future sales will hold up given the deteriorating financial situation...

    Re: Porsche Sales Up

Are those reported sales what PCNA have sold to dealers, or what dealers have sold to customers? If the former, there would be a delay before a real sales drop becomes impossible to conceal.

I agree with easy rider, sales are bound to go down. The realtor Cayenne market has all but dried up - while bonus season will probably be gloomy this year and in 2008.

    Re: Porsche Sales Up

Referencing my points in another thread, I am not surprised Porsche sales are up. The car is an affordable middle class car and that market has not been fully tapped.

    Nick, you're evil

Porsche sales are down? Of course they're down, Porsche mass produces these cars and overprices them.

I still miss having a 911 in the garage, I still firmly believe that Porsche makes some of the most well rounded sports cars on the planet. They don't have the styling of Ferrari or Lamborghini, but there's still a style and driving appeal there. And I'm totally fine with the production numbers, it means that the used market is even better for buyer's, which translates into even more beautiful cars on the road

This is just wanton mischief Nick Unfortunately, this little prod is just a little too obvious, even for you! I would be pretty surprised if anyone here actually took a bite on this bit of bait you're dangling.

C'mon Nick. You can surely do better than this Don't tell me your powers are fading?

    All the best,
    Easy

While it is true I am having fun poking Porsche owners, nevertheless there is a good deal of truth as to what I write. The only question is whether Porsche owners care they own a middle class car. I suspect some will take offense and others don't give a damn.

    Re: Porsche Sales Up

The sales figures are for cars sold to customers.

Nick, your theme of Porsches are for the "middle class"
is closer in historical truth than you may realize and that some buyers may want to accept.

Did Porsche ever position its brand values, content or general pricing as a competitor for Ferrari or Maserati or Lamborghini? No. Historically, Porsche's model designs and many parts were too deeply connected with proletariat Volkswagons to have gotten away with that, but they did chase them with performance.

In many ways you could argue that their cars do represent middle class values. Many Porsches models are priced well below Jaguar coupes, Range Rovers and Mercedes SL's but represent better value, durability and performance..a harder work ethic! Nothing from Porsche akin to a svelte and spicey gorgeous Italian trophy mistress waiting under the sheets in a Manhattan penthouse. Porsache are more like a somber honest reward for hard work..very middle class!

    Re: Porsche Sales Up

This gives me one more reaosn to believe that the US economy is doing well, outside of real estate and financial institutions that hold subprime CDO paper. Just one more reason not to believe the US financial media sources and all their hysterics.
