    What has Schumi been up to?

    So Schumi has shocked people by riding on the Ducatis at the post-Valencia race tests. His pace was 5 seconds behind Dani Pedrosa, not bad for this second try. He even shares his impressions. Oh yes, he even announced that he is coming out to retirement to become an F1 car tester.

    5 seconds withtin Stoner's time is hugely impressive!!



    It's much more difficult for a car guy to drive a bike at the limit than the other way round... cool!

    Exactly. I love me my motorcycle racing!

    Wanted to add, it will be awesome to see the current Ferrari drivers work with Schumi, as he can provide feedback on race craft and suggestions with car set-up if needed.

    I wish he would retire and stay away from danger. Too many F1 drivers have perished doing dumb stuff like this. Once retired you should count your lucky stars and raise the family.

    He's actually still working under contract for Ferrari as a "Technical Adviser". I guess it's really helpful for Ferrari to make use of Schumi's vast expertise when they are fine-tuning their latest F1 cars and/or road cars.

    I gather that now that driver aids such as Traction Control have been banned in F1 for 2008, they need Schumi's input even more than ever since he used to help develop the cars back in the days when they didn't have such drivers' aids.

    Very true! Speed vision was talking about his role and how important it is for Ferrari to have a lifetime relationship with Mikey. Its like Jordan, Nike will never let him go somewhere else like to Reebok or Adidas.

    ...and to add two interesting and stunning data:

    GP World Champ Kevin Schwanz drove the bike on the same occasion and was just 1 (!) second faster than Schumi!! that's freakin' unbelievable...

    Schumi's tome would have been fast enough to qualify for the Grand Prix!

    I love the fact that he is back testing F1 cars next season...
