Kobalt:Grant,
Some people at Rennlist says that the 991.2 GT3 is too civilized. What is your opinion?
It is. Even in the manual version. Refined and civilized.
I believe I touched on that earlier.
I actually think when it gets on a track, it will be more forgiving than ever. Porsche did changed the suspension from the .1 to the .2. Porsche never mentioned it anywhere but the rear is redesigned, I posted pictures a while back in this thread.
nberry:How does Schmee get the access given to him by various car manufacturers? I know he publishes videos but for Porsche to allow him to video his car being built is unheard of for the rest of us.
He is considered 'journalist' now. Not in a traditional sense but in this new age era he is.
Individuals don't get the chance to film inside the production line but journalists can get special arrangements. Porsche will plan ahead of time to hide stuff that can't be filmed and instruct the film-er when and where to film.
Kobalt:Grant,

Well, it's no more civilized than any other newest generation Porsche I've experienced (much more visceral than 991.2 TT). I guess I wasn't expecting something like my 860 kg 1973 911 - seems just like a 2018 Porsche GT would feel in that respect. I hear more engine and road noise (including little pings from stones hitting the side mufflers right behind rear tires) than I did in the GT4.
It's not as raw as your RS, but I guess that should be expected too...

Well, the next time I order a Porsche I will make it a point to tell them my new occupation is a journalist.
Seriously, there is more to it when it comes to Schmee. This guy has more juice with auto manufacturers than highly respected journalist.A possible explanation is he never criticizes and gives nothing but gushing praise.

the .2 is definitely louder.
the mechanical soup of the .1 at idle is gone but above 4krpm it is way louder than .1, from the road or from the engine or even exhaust...
refined doesn't mean luxurious, it just mean engineering modification due to load of technical errors overtaken on the .1
you don't change 784 engines for fun with following worldwide stop sell.

He doesn't really 'know' cars. He knows how to read spec sheets and blah out stats on video only. Plus, he has nothing of substance to say on his videos, of course he doesn't know what to criticize.
He has established his 'brand' within the last couple years, and when he called up manufacturers he can get access because of his youtube reach.

Would be silly for them to refuse free advertising...

Nono it's not, I think Dave meant that he thought I was going for Irish/Brewster. And while these and BRG remain my favorites, I wanted to pick something less obvious. I think there has only been one RS in this color for example. So indeed, Olive it is, car is being undressed today so I assume I'll be receiving some more photos later on.

What a wonderful color spec Frank!
This color is quite close the green of the 997 RS, isn't it?
Looking forward to seeing more pictures mate! If that had been my car, you wouldn't have been able to chase me away from the dealer with a stick!
