    What Nav voice do people pick?

    I use the british woman, she has a little bit more personality hehe

    British woman is by far the best in my opinion. Definitely the most personality. For the hell of it, I tried the German male voice, figuring it would sound like a U-Boat commander, but no luck, they made him entirely too polite sounding!

    i know you can change the sex of the voice, but would prefer a woman with a french accent......!

    I checked the English (GB) CD I have and the accents of both the male and the female voices are British accents. More specifically, their accents are 'southerner' British accents.

    Can someone please tell me how to change the nav voice to the british winch?! And please don't tell me to read the manual . . . I did and, being somewhat retarded, I can't figure it out. Any chance this option is not available on some software versions? I have an '06.

    I dont think you can change the accents between American and British. The nav DVD is either British English or US English. At least that's how it is with lots of software programs. I'm really not sure with the Porsche nav.

    Anyone in the US have a female voice on their nav with a BRitish accent?

    I have an american car set on British female, it is possible, just mess around and find the menu. I believe it's under language.

    It can be done. When selecting language you select "British English" instead of "American English", then make sure that "female" voice is selected.
    Sequence is roughly as follows:
    1 St. step
    Press "Main" button followed by "Set" button
    Choose "PCM System" by turning right-hand knob and press same knob to activate it
    Choose "English GB" by turning and then pressing RH knob

    2nd. step
    Press "Navi" followed by "Set"
    Select "Voice" using RH knob and press knob to activate
    Select and set "Female"

    Can't guarantee that the above instructions are absolutely correct or complete, but be adventurous, test them. They should be close enough for you to get the rest intuitively.

    If it makes you feel better, I did think I detected a slight German accent in some of the vowels when I briefly road-tested the UK English female voice.

    Thanks fritz! I thought language was designated within the Nav menu. From your post, I see it's set in the main menu instead. I'll try to make the change again this afternoon. Looking forward to hearing the Brit for awhile -- should be a nice change. The "English US" female is a little boring, I think.

    It sounded like Hillary Klinton when she gives a speech in Alabama.
    The only thing was , I kept getting lost because the directions were totally wrong and reversed every five minutes.
