    Tuners for a 997 turbo

    Hi,

    Need some input, what tuners would be recommended to use for a 997 turbo? Anyone with experience of (for example) Cargraphic, Manthey, 9ff, RUF etc... when it comes to turbo? Do not want to change engine components but instead full exhaust, DME, filter, wheels etc...

    Would appreciate some help

    i bet the consensus here will be for the g.i.a.c. ecu reflash...if you take the time to search this out here you will find lots of first hand info from rennteamers who have gone this route....champion in fl. also is a distributor/installer

    The consensus will definitely NOT be GIAC . But really, if mr. Matrox lives in the US, it might just be the best (and cheapest) option.

    Of the tuners you have listed the only one I would avoid is 9ff, I have heard bad things about their reliability. Ruf should be releasing their 997 tuning program soon which will be mind blowing I'm sure. Another plus is that Ruf has taken their time developing parts for the 997tt so they should be reliable and effective. Check out RC's visit to the Ruf factory, although he did not see any 997tt packages, he was very impressed with the workmanship on other cars as well as the customer service.

    Check out these guys, Wendland, they do very well in comparison tests, for less money than some of the other "names" in the tuning world;

    Thanks for all your replies! I live in Germany so the US is rather far away;)

    When looking at Manthey and Cargraphic for example (the latter quote 544hp and 798nm while Manthey 535hp and 730nm), any reason for the difference?

    Different torque curves. I'm pretty sure the cars will perform very similarly. RS Tuning (Cargraphic) and Manthey are playing in the same league, as is Ruf. I'd go to one of these three.

    Really want to feel peace of mind by going to one of the best tuners. Will contact RUF as well, Cargraphic/RS tuning and Manthey feels safe otherwise. What about tuners such as Sportec and Techart?

    Only useful if you intend to track the car. Look at WhiteKnight's FVD data in the neighbouring topic.

    I would go for Techart, if power is not the only thing you are looking for!

    I know Techart is not exactly in the Porsche good-books right now, but I am pretty sure they still make the best looking bodykits.

    Saying all this, the Porsche official Power-kit and Aero-kit will be out soon, so will be interesting to see how they compare. I am surprised there have been no NBR spy-shots of the Aero-kit yet given it is officially available from Sept this year.

    Perhaps the Aerokit is so subtle that you only know you have it because you paid for it? Typical Porsche understatement .
