    Flatbed truck and our cars; how do they work?

    Saw something like this the other day and started to wonder how the average towing company is gonna get our cars onto a "normal" flatbed truck without doing damage to the really long snoot we have. This pic has an Audi with almost no overhang.

    Anybody know? Sounds like a PITA until they bring the right truck from another county that is low enough to get us.

    For regular carrera's... it's no problem. We flatbed cars around all day... but for a GT3, or something really low.... we use some planks to lessen the approach angle.

    There's a clip in Top Gear where the guys are exiting a subterranean car park. They had all sorts of problems with the front lip of their cars. They used the 'wooden plank method' too.

    Not sure if this is a joke but that's not necessary. If you approach the driveway almost at a right angle you don't need that concraption

    I'm fairly sure the guy was serious (was a while ago).

    What's funny is he's not following any known construction principles for dimensional lumber.
