    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

Hoping Porsche and PCNA still hedged on currency enough to NOT bring it to the US at 130 Euro = $176,000, that would kill it for sure. If, like in years past, it is about 10k above turbo coupe, that ought to be expected.

    MSRP USD$136,500.00.

Eric, if that is the Euro price I assume 17% VAT is included. Nevertheless, $150,000 for a Porsche is a lot of money. All their cars priced over $150,000 have been a disaster in the resale department.

    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

Many expensive Ferraris are not worth much in the resale dept either. Look at 575's from 275,000 to 150,000. So they all drop significantly.

newberry ...please grow up or go else where ...im really glad for you that your f430 has increased nicely in value since you got it, due to the fact there are so many newly minted wealthy posuers in the developing world that just cant wait to have one...but so what ive been a porsche person since seeing my first rsk...i and others im sure can afford to loose whatever on their tt's if and when they are sold...if your f430 is your idea of an investment i suspect your the one thats in trouble

Where did you get this price? Is this for real?

    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

Even at $136K, I will walk out of there after writting a $170k check. PCCB, Adp SPRT seat, painted lip this and painted lip that, etc will take you there. I will still buy it though after trading the 997S cab. I probably get $68K for my cab meaning I have to come up with another $100K.EXPENSIVE MAN.

From the always accurate and reliable Autoweek:

    http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070507/FREE/70507004/1528/newsletter01

See the last sentence: "The 2008 911 Turbo Cabriolet goes on sale in the U.S. in September, priced at $136,500.00."

    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

There's no reason to think it would be priced differently than the non-Turbos, eg about $10k above the coupe. So $136k sounds about right.

As usual, they've screwed up the US website ... it claims a curb weight of 1,665 lbs ... I wish! I also wish they would offer the T with the normal rear spoiler. Especially in the US, the opportunity to drive fast enought to make the pop-up spoiler ineffective is limited.

    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

Back East or in the Midwest maybe but in Southern CA I never even a saw a 996TT cab for under $145

    Then it makes sense

    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

Also carconnection.com has it for the same price $136,500

Hey I could care less if you or your father buys a TT Cab. It your money and if you want to give a good portion of it to Porsche with nothing coming back other than a red and very chafed rear end that is your business.

Personally, I prefer to deal with car manufacturers that partner with me the consumer and share the spoils.

    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

The car does come with quite a few goodies as base, so it may not overshoot the 149,900 mark, but you certainly could quite easily.

    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

gee nberry - can i have a picture of you to put on my desk so i know what i want to be when i grow up??? you obviously exemplify everything we all want to be and i personally feel so fortunate to have someone of your greatness and intellect among us...

then again, maybe you are that pusillanimous little piece of puss that others have been whispering about recently...

you see nberry - there are lots of people on this board who have ferraris and porsches and love them both... lots of guys who pay more in taxes in a month than you make in a year... so if you and your f430 are all that and have nothing to bring to this party, go play with just the f430 people... my guess is they won't want someone like you either... no more responses to nberry - period...

    Hey guys,

    No personal attacks please.

nberry is one of our valued members on rennteam and we all can state our opinion in a civil way as he always has.

    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

That's not such a bad price. My options total around 10K based on the coupe pricing ( adaptive sport seats, heated seats, sport chrono, phone, lsd, mf steering wheel, gt silver/natural grey), so 146K not totally silly. What other cab can you buy for that kind of money? Anything out there at any price that out performs it?

    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

No convertible performs as well as the TT Cab for the Price except for the SL65 in a straight line, and its closest competitors (430 spider and Gallardo) can't keep up with it either. I wonder if they will make a Z06 convertible?

Yes I agree with this, let's just enjoy which ever car we choose and not take it to a level of hatred and disgust. We all have our opinions about different cars, the fact that he brings a car down does not make it a bad car. I have learned a lot from this forum and I'm sure it will be nice to keep it that way.

$165k -$170k (before taxes) is what I'm figuring. Just the must have's get you up there. Geez the S is going to approach $200k. The options below add up to $161k (before tax) and those are just off the top of my head, I know there's a few more I'm going to want. (insert picture of poster Stradale bending over while Porsche's CFO Holger Harter pulls down his pants from behind laughing like a mad scientist saying in the thickest German Accent: "You'll buy the mats and like it" ,,,, lol!)

Artic Silver or Basalt w/ Black leather int/ Black top.

    PCCB - $8840
    Black Mats = $115
    Heated Seats - $480
    Adaptive Seats - $1k

    Axle Diff Lock - $950
    Sport Chrono - $1840

    Carbon Package - Switch Panel & Gear lever/handbrake - $890
Belt Outlet B Pillar Carbon -$490
    Package Switch Panel (CF Vents/leather slats/loudspeaker finisher) - $2700
    Carbon Door Sil- $780
    Carbon Rear Center Consule- $1625

I am not sure I agree with your statement regarding performance. Also, keep in mind that the 430 and Gallardo are several years old. I suspect when their new models are presented in the next couple of years the 997TT will be relegated to a distance also-ran.

BTW I am glad you are beginning to see the value of the Z06.

    Re: 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet - Official Pictures/

The turbo S will be out by then, then PDK then PTM 2.0 then...
    You got my point.

Do you think the Turbo Cab will have the mechanical limited-slip rear differential option? The Carrera S Cab didn't.

Rumor has it that it'll be 650 or 700hp engine and around 100k but we all find out next January at Detroit Auto Show.
