    Octane?

    Given that the inside of the gas cap recommends 93 and most premium gas is 91-- do any of you use octane boosters or other additives?

    nope..car adapts and runs great on 91 or at least mine does...would i buy 93 if it was available here, yes

    I have added a can of ST104 to mine one time to see what would happen,--and it does seem to exhibit less of that low RPM engine knocking when starting out. With the variocam design the engine 'detunes' itself to the octane it finds in the engine, albeit at a loss of some power. I have the same problem here with California's 91 "premium"

    Actually, FYI, this is car sellable anywhere in the world because it will run okay on ANY level of octane (unleaded gas).

    Be prepared for the US to move to 91 octane nation wide. In won't be '08 and maybe not '09 but it will happen.

    So anybody know what kind of HP/Tq loss will be suffered?

    It's happening in the Midwest already. Last weekend all the BP/Amocos I checked have dropped to 91 (was 93, R+M/2). The price didn't go down, of course.

    Some folks have recommended Torco brand unleaded booster. I haven't tried it yet.
