    Thanks Kreso. Why do you think Audi change the torque character of the 4.2 engine for R8? I know that the article said "it favors hig rpm breathing" but the same engine in the RS4 is also a high rpm breathing engine.

    The RS4 is a heavy sedan and it needs torque down low. The R8 is a sports car through and through, so they could afford to take the high-rev concept all the way.

    Crash words are very accurate...
    Also, were is R8 engine? At the rear so, it uses different(shorter) intake system to breath more freely.

    Audi wanted to give more "sporty" character to already excellent RS4 engine for its new home-R8.

    420hp to 338 at the wheel

    = 82 hp ~ 20% loss

    avg for 4WD Audi?

    What do Lambos usually loose to the wheels? I always thought it was high as well (20+)

    I was under the impression that Porsche's were closer to 15%

    anyone have any general figures?

    It's about the same as a 996 Turbo. Those netted between 330 and 350, depending on the dyno.
