Was the Gallardo suspension tested at the 'ring by the factory? If so, why did it seem to bottom out at the Kliene Karussell?

Lets see: Front-engined, rear wheel drive 582hp 1750kgs, vs. Mid-engined, 4WD 500-520hp. 1450kgs.

With that in mind, the CLK handles remarkably well. The only thing that puts me off with this and the CLK Black Series is that the CLK is a very out-dated design now and the interior is very poor in comparison to the other cars in the Mercedes stable. Mercedes is now in a process of showing a new design language and the C/S/CL cars are the future design style. It will take a few years for the CLK to come out with a new design and the Black Series if launched immediately near to the regular model AMG CLK will be a much better bet than one launched when the model is at the end of its life.

Very nice video; thx for posting, MKSGR....

Perhaps many will begin to see why several jaded guys who own both 599 and '07 SL65 (and/or CL600) seem to prefer 65/600 most often, even in mtn twisties

....esp when the errant oncoming driver in mtn twisties creates an unavoidable collision/near-collision, I suspect most affluent, risk/reward-conscious guys would rather be in a 65/600, as opposed to a 599 (even w/a leather-bound, deviated-stitch fire extinguisher)....

Will be really interesting to see how AMG's latest-gen chassis/tranny/tire technologies translate into perf/feel/trac of '08 5000lb CL65 (or 4600lb CL63) in twisties, esp public, bumpy, mtn twisties vs whatever the 599 can muster in terms of perf/safety (real and perceived)/driving feel/trac......

If it is the gt3000 videos orange gallardo, it supposed to be 500hp one. (Correct me wrong i saw this car videos for a long time)

Btw CLK is fast but dated

Agreed about the CLK. You should be right about the GT3000-Gallardo being the old version with 500hp (have in mind that some say the old version is the quicker one).

That comment is belong to AMuS , where its test was a bullshiit. Their test car (2006 model) supposed to have a problem, some say clutch some say ecu problem. It showed 15.0 second 0-200 kmh time where it is a bullshit time also.
In their first Gallardo test the car showed 13.8 time till 200kmh

However at that comparison test BMW M6 got some problems also however they didnt post M6's results , they published old M6 test datas.

06 new ones are significantly quicker to the owners who moved 04 to 06+/SE/Coupe/Spider) Some say +20hp difference at cranck but +30hp dofference on wheels.

Once i ve seen a dyno sheet that 04 Gallardo get 370awhp on awd dyno, and 06 SE got 414 awhp. (if my memory was true)

Btw
I will tell my impressions after my 520hp engine, new tranny software update done. (The car is almost finished just having some tests and minor details)

Let us know how the new engine feels ASAP.

Regarding the strange data for the 520hp-version, I always asked myself how the new version with more power, better e-gear and improved overall can be slower than the old version. But then also sportauto, which has a better reputation than ams in this respect, said the old one is quicker.

Anyway, looking forward to your report!

I will , at least i think i will feel difference after break-in period.

Btw Dimitri may also enlighten us , he had to test drive a 06+ Gallardo , compared to his car.

But as i see from the owners who jumped 04 to 06, are really happy.
But dunno about situation of Spider vs 04-05
