havent had to replace any in three years as the applications on three vehicles including my tt still look great...i do know that the best quality installation on a new vehicle is achieved by not waxing those areas to which the film is to be applied...sooo you might think about not applying wax prior to the new film application.... ive had good results by applying " maguires - plastix " to the 3m film after application ...it is formulated for this application and not recommended for use on paint

It should last for as long as you own your car if it was installed properly. My 3M clear bra yellowed slightly after 2 years but I bet some of it is my fault. i used a variety of different waxes both synthetic and natural and I think that was a big factor with the yellowing. i would apply a synthetic wax like Rejex, Klassic, and stay away from the yellow carnaruba type waxes. Ask your installer what to use on it and stick with it. I wouldn't be able to state exactly how many years these films will last or remain crystal clear? I don't keep cars that long anyway, usually 3-5 years.

My 97 993 needs this replaced as it has turned somewhat dark and is cracking. I didn't wax or use any of the special spray on chemicals for this area...thus the degradation after 10+ years in the Florida heat and rain. I think with proper care these plastics should last at least as long as my 993 panels, but will probably need replacement before due to stone chips which is why they are there!!
