Another trip to the Tail of the Dragon
Flew back home to TN from the UK a couple of days ago after an unplanned and unavoidable 2 month stay there. I had missed my C4S terribly. So yesterday I got up super early and by 6am was wondering what road to hit... it had to be the Cherohala Skyway and the The Tail. By 7am I was on my way. It was fine weather in my part of the world... no thoughts about checking the weather forecast. Had a wonderful drive on the Cherohala and settled myself down at the Snowbird Mountain Inn for the night.
By midnight a howling wind and icy weather had moved in around the Robinsville area! It was REALLY cold and by morningthere was a dustinf of snow... anyhow the roads were fine apat from the odd bit of ice. Jumped in the car by 8.30am and off to the Dragon I go. What a wonderful road! This was my 3rd time there and I was still mesmerised by the drive. I love my car and now that its past its 2000 miles I was able to let loose. Just outstanding traction and agile handling... LOVE IT!!!! Did the route 3 times and I was tired but beaming with a smile from ear to ear. Sorry for the long winded post... but I couldn't contain myself.
