    Multi-function steering wheel problem

    Hi, all. I have a 2006 Boxster S (987) and have chosen the multi-function steering wheel option. The thumbwheels on either side have been giving me problems since day one. It seems to be too "sensitive", and the selection becomes difficult, if not impossible, especially when driving. The Porsche dealer has replaced the steering wheel once, but still the same problem. They say that it is a software problem that can only be rectified by Porsche AG. I have now been living with this problem for over a year now.

    Any one else having this problem? I'd love to know and get some suggestions!

    i have the same problems with my steering wheel, and porsche refuses to accept the problem. all i hear is its normal...

    my right wheel squeaks, but other than that its perfect.

    All I can say is that hope I have alerted future Porsche buyers not to choose the Multi-function steering wheel option! The MF Steering wheel is too thin anyway, and no fun to hold. Any suggestions on changing my steering wheel? I have an airbag, SatNav, Bose & telephone kit, all on the MF steering wheel! I can afford to lose all the controls,but want to keep the airbag.

    FWIW when ordering the MF wheel, it is possible to get a thicker MF wheel as a Porsche Exclusive option.

    Hmmm - I can't find it in the Porsche configurator on their website... Thanks for the heads-up, though - will find out from the dealer during my next service which is in the next 2 weeks...

    You can only find Porsche Exclsuive options on the car configurator on the German website:
