Yes I think it has been designed by Jason Castriota, head of Ferrari design department at Pinin Farina
I've also read that it won't be called Maserati Coupé anymore (Quattroruote). Maybe they'll bring back old names like "Ghibli" or "Sebring".

New car will be called "Granturismo", as it complements the current Coupé GranSport, which will be produced further on.

Let's wait for the final product, unfortunately some of the perfection of design sketches gets lost when it comes to producing the car.
Anyway, sketches look great, only the new Tridente in the front grill reminds me a bit of the VW-sign.

Yes you're right, my first impression was also a VW sign :P
The car from the front in the sketches reminds me a lot of the Maserati birdcage concept(which I like)! What do you think?

Yes, you're right about the birdcage, there are similarities, although the birdcage being a midengined car.
