Depends on where the guy parked. I can tell you from experience that some people really are arrogant and think that because they have even a moderately expensive car, they can park anywhere. The driver probably thought they weren't going to tow it.

Very likely. However, that is a poor excuse for acting like a dick and just leaving the car anywhere you feel like it.

They probably don't know the true value of that car, because if they did they most definetly wouldn't touch it because if they damaged it, it would be an extremely expensive mistake!

In technical terms towing the car or removing it is basicly theft, and in that case legalised theft!

No. I support towing. Somew people are just assholes and park where ever they please. Here, for example, a parking spot on a protected parking space only costs 3 EUR for the entire night (6.15 PM until 6.30 AM), but there are still loads of high-end cars parked on the sidewalk in front of our front gate, while there are empty parking spaces only 100 meters away - I hate the nightclub clientele

. I support towing, because the person being towed usually gets so justifiably.

If its not blocking the entrance to a hospitals ER then I wouldnt see it justifyable. It would make more sense to get a praking ticket since the city wont have to take resposibility of damages when its being moved.

I agree with both of you, some jerkoffs deserve to get towed, but also the liability is definitely not worth it. Just give the guy a ticket...then again she may have gone to do that, ran the plate and realized that he had a bunch of unpaid tickets

One thing we haven't considered and it may be the reason that the people are clapping is that it broke down (I know thats hard to imagine but anything is possible) and the owner needed it towed

In Japan you get X number of tickets (can't remember the exact number) and then you loose your licence for a month and then two and then three and then longer! I think its a good system. the fine itself is not too bad, about USD 170.00 per time but loosing your license for something so silly would be very frustrating, even so, there are still idiots who park illegally. You have GOT to see a how the Japanese tow cars. I will try do a search on youtude but the first time I saw how long it takes from start to end I was shocked. I would say they can move a car within 3 - 5 minutes but the way they do it is the amazing thing!

I also have seen how they tow, and they write in chalk the information on where your car is and such. Now if it rains...

Unless the guy parked his CGT in front of an emergency room entrance so ambulances couldn't pass, I say it's pathetic to tow someone like that.
I dont care if it's a CGT or a Kia Picanto...you know like modern people like Tim have..

Seriously, I'd probably get violent with these guys had this been my car they even THOUGHT about touching - let alone HOIST!
And the woman who is clapping? OMFG. Ka-pow!

I definately think it's ok to tow if a car is jamming traffic, entrances, garages etc. No doubt. But doing this because of what looks like a regular parking booth? That's just wrong.

I know that in the eyes of the law we should all be equal. Having said that, you DONT start mounting clamps and risk totalling a CGT. You just dont.

I have said this many times, and I will say this again:
There is only one group of people I find lower than drugdealers: Parking attendants. And I am absolutely serious.
People who willingly get the most useless job there is are useless themselves.
Just seeing these losers gloating over their CGT "catch" makes me sick to my stomach..
In fact - I have to run to the bathroom now!

dr phil, I said this before just to be a voice of reason, but maybe this guy needed a tow (unlikely but possible and maybe the reason for the clapping). I understand your hostility though, because I despise parking attendants as well.

Porky, Iwakuni was awesome and luckily I got up to Tokyo a few times to see everything. Last time I was a dependant and went there with my dad who was a Marine. Now i'm the Marine and maybe I'll get stationed there sometime again
